Our villa is in the best position in S'Algar, with superb panoramic sea views. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, one en suite. Sleeps up to six using sofabed in lounge. Own garden. Large shared pool in beautiful landscaped gardens. Close to restaurants and shops, diving, sports club and evening entertainment. Twenty minutes walk or five minutes drive to Alcalfar beach. S'Algar is a small, peaceful resort on the south-east corner of Menorca, about 7km from the capital Mahon (Mao) and a twenty minute drive from the Airport. The villas are set along a gently sloping limestone cliff, with fantastic views over the Mediterranean. Not having its own beach means that S'Algar is quiet and civilised and never crowded. In one publication, it was described as the best run resort in Menorca and you can see why. It consists mainly of private villas and low-build apartments, having only two hotels and four apartment complexes. It is the perfect place to have a peaceful and relaxing holiday and as a base to explore the rest of the island and its beautiful beaches.Although there is no beach as such in S'Algar itself, you can swim in the crystal clear water at the waterfront. The pretty beach at Cala Alcalfar is a twenty minute walk away along the sea path, and there are courtesy buses which run from the two hotels to the nearby beach at the resort of Punta Prima.

Notes to the rental rates

PLEASE NOTE prices are per week and for the property only, NOT per person, and are based on four people sharing. For parties of over four people there is an additional charge of £50 per person per week. Although normal occupancy for the villa would be up to four people, it can accommodate up to six, using the full-size double sofa bed in the lounge. For long stays (3 weeks and over) a small additional charge per person applies, to take account of the extra linen and cleaning expenses.

Reservations are Friday-Friday. Arrival at the villa any time from 12 noon. Please vacate the villa by 10.00 a.m. on the day of your departure, to enable the cleaners to prepare it for the people following you. Bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided and changed weekly. If you require cleaning help during your stay we can arrange this for you at a small extra charge or you can arrange it yourselves with our property managers during your stay and pay them direct.

The (non-refundable) deposit of £50 per person is payable on reservation, with the balance due 12 weeks before your holiday commences. If you require any advice regarding flights or car hire we can put you in touch with the people we use ourselves. Full terms and conditions will be supplied together with the booking form.

| Notes: | Our villa is situated on a good sized corner plot, mainly laid to lawn.There is a covered, shady patio area and small rear patio. Access to the villa is from the small one-way road that runs along the sea wall. If you have a hire car, the villa has its own parking space. Situated behind the villa, the pool is set in beautiful raised landscaped gardens with sunbathing terraces. The sea views from the terraces are superb. The pool is shared by residents of the Mediterraneo villas and is a good size, 16 metres by 8 metres. The depth is 0.8 metres to 2.0 metres. There is also a shallower sectioned off area for smaller children. There is easy access to the pool from the villa, just a few steps from the garden. The pool is only for the use of residents of the small number of Mediterraneo villas. It is rarely busy, and even in high season you may find you have it completely to yourselves. |
Things to do in S'Algar
For those who enjoy a more active holiday, S'Algar offers a wealth of activities, from watersports, fishing and walking, to gaining an offshore powerboat licence.. There is good fishing from the rocks and cliffs and great fun can be had at the waterfront using light float tackle and sliced bread! The sports club near the San Luis Hotel offers tennis, bowls, football and much more. There is also a bar on site. The countryside around S'Algar is ideal for people who enjoy walking and exploring, a favourite of ours being the walk down the densely wooded path through the gorge to the tiny beach at Cala Rafalet - take your snorkeling gear
S'Algar Diving
The watersports centre at S'Algar Diving offers snorkelling tuition with trips out in their fast rib boats. They specialise in scuba diving and offer a full service, from 'try a dive' to full open water courses. The coast around S'Algar is renowned for its diving, and some of the caves actually reach back under the cliff beneath the villas! Diving equipment is available for hire to qualified people. The diving centre can also offer powerboat tuition.
Car hire and getting around
We would advise you to rent a car, even if only for a couple of days. This means that you can explore the island, spend time on some of Menorca's beautiful beaches and try the profusion of restaurants that the island has to offer. There is a regular bus service from S'Algar to the capital Mahon, where market days are Tuesday and Saturday. Mahon has great shops and bars. The harbour is the largest in the Mediterranean and is well worth an evening stroll; there are bars and restaurants all along the harbour front and the largest cruisers and yachts are berthed there.
