This 3 bed, 2 bathroom apartment is ideal for families, romantic breaks, walking, nature, diving or cycling holidays. Fully air conditioned, its on the second floor of only two, in a very peaceful location, on the exclusive development of El Pinar De San Gines. The large private roof solarium is the main dining area, and has a large table and six chairs. There are 4 reclining sun beds. There is also a gazebo for shade and a gas barbecue so guests can enjoy the fabulous sunsets and views. A second balcony off the lounge allows some shade, with a further table and chairs. The apartment has been tastefully furnished in a contemporary design, with leather sofas in the large lounge, with a DVD player, and satellite TV installed. The kitchen has a large fridge freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. All bedrooms have large built in wardrobes with plenty of storage. The main bedroom is en-suite with a double bed, the other bedrooms have twin beds. There are 2 communal pools close by.

La Azohia, on the Costa Calida where time stands still. Soak up the sunshine and relax. Enjoy a leisurely stroll down to the sea front through fragrant pine trees to watch the fish catch brought into the village jetty. The newly built tree lined promenade stretches for miles, allowing a flat coastal walk to neighbouring village Isla Plana. Situated at the eastern end of Mazarron bay, La Azohia is the jewel of the Costa Calida. Backed by mountains, this is an idyllic fishing village where the pace of life is far from hurried. Just 20 minutes from Cartagena and 10 minutes from Puerto de Mazarron, where you will find many restaurants, shops and bars this is an ideal place for a relaxing holiday. El Pinar De San Gines is a small exclusive development, built to blend in with surrounding mountain scenery. Only 500 metres from the beach, the area has a charm of its own.     A deposit of 25% of total cost is required with booking. Full payment of the balance should be made 8 weeks prior to departure. A security deposit of £200 euros is required with the final payment, which will be refunded in full after the holiday, subject to any deductions for breakage, damage or loss.
    Our property managers will meet you at the apartment to greet you and settle you in. This service is included in the rental price. All electricity costs are included in the rental price, with the exception of air conditioning. To ensure sensible use of the air conditioning, there is a credit of 10 euros per week. If more credit is required, this can be purchased locally from my property manager.
  • Flowers and/or Champagne can be arranged for that special occasion. Please let us have two weeks notice for this service. Our property manager can also arrange grocery shopping if required.

Costa Calida: The Costa Calida, Spain's 'warm coast' is a fairly undiscovered part of south-eastern Spain. La Azohia is a totally unspoilt idyllic Spanish fishing village. There are no large tour operators here, and even in the height of the season you will be able to find empty beaches along the coast. The region of Murcia is locally known at the 'Market Garden of Spain' as it grows all kinds of salad vegetables, citrus fruits, nuts, rice and grapes. The Costa Calida boasts 320 days of sunshine a year, average temperatures in the winter are 17 degrees, and 27 degrees in the summer. The governing bodies, the Town Halls, in this region are anxious to protect the national heritage of their mountains, salt lakes, beaches and grasslands and have allocated huge areas to be reserved as National and Regional Parks. Having learned lessons from costas on each side of the region, they will not allow building at the expense of the local flora, fauna and quality of life.

Places to Visit: A five minute drive will take you to the little resort of Isla Plana where there are more restaurants, bars, shops and a bank. Ten minutes drive will find you in the bustling port of Mazarron. Shops, pavements cafes, and bars are abundant here, an ideal place for young and old alike. The tree lined promenade is a favourite place for families to take an evening stroll, and watch the sun go down. Further afield, approximately 30 minutes drive, is the famous port of Cartegena. Here you will see enormous cruise ships docking on a daily basis to enjoy the rich history of the port. The area has wonderful architecture and very classy shops, many vibrant squares, and well worth exploring. Inland there are many places to visit, including the holy city of Caravaca de la Cruz. Travelling through orange, lemon, and olive groves, you will discover many jewels off the beaten track.

Activities in the Area: Come to La Azohia and you will relax … there is almost no pace of life here. This is an excellent area for families and couples. Walkers will also love this area as it caters for those who like long leisurely strolls on the flat, as well as those who prefer the more rugged environment. For the more energetic, there is golf, swimming, windsurfing, diving at all levels, sailing, boat cruises, biking, river rafting, tennis. For the less energetic, there is a spa at the local 4 star La Azohia hotel. For families, La Azohia is the ideal safe environment, it's where the Spanish spend their holidays. The area enjoys a wealth of interesting historical and geographical sites – salt flats, the largest lagoon in Europe at Mar Menor, mineral mines at Mazarron, the oldest submarine in the world, cannon sites, pirate lookouts, Roman and Carthaginian remains in Cartagena, Moorish architecture, Holy Cities, International Jazz festivals, rock concerts, fairs.

Golf: For Golfers there are many courses in the area including Camposol which is just 20 minutes drive from the apartment, and the famous La Manga Golf Club is just 40 minutes drive.

'A very attractive apartment, spacious and furnished to a high standard. Views from the solarium were magnificent, and all in all very peaceful. La Azohia itself is a real find - totally unspoiled surrounded by mountains, with crystal clear waters, and a lovely long promenade, making it suitable for couples, families, and mature people' (Review submitted 01/01/2006)

Apartment was well laid out with two bathrooms, and well sized bedrooms and the lounge area was just like being at home it was so nicely set out.
Could not believe how close to the beach which is so unspoilt, paths with beautiful picnic areas with palm trees run along the sea shore to the nearest village with superb views as you walk along which change accordingly to the lay of the land, all with beautiful mountains not far away. I felt that this is a part of Spain that is as it should be.
Cyclists walkers runners and people who love nature would find this perfect .
The local villages and the nearest town are well kept and give you all the choices of food sights and social life that would please most people.
I was amazed at the difference of the quiet to the bustle of the local town. There is a rich historical side to the area as well.
My overall feeling about my stay in La Azohia is that I discovered an unspoilt gem of a part of Spain where I will return with my 3 generations of family.

My little piece of Heaven

This luxury apartment is situated in an area of outstanding unspoilt natural beauty in fact the surrounding hills one feels one could just reach out and touch them from the roof top solarium.After visiting a number of times in recent years I have seen the area tastefully develop from a sleepy fishing and diving centre into a select inviting destination. The promenade walk by the sea with bird watch to Isla Plana is uplifting as are the glorious sunsets.
Extremely well worth the experience.

Lovely apartment with beautiful roof terrace views

My husband, myself and our 3 children have had three lovely holidays at this apartment - that is how highly we would recommend it!
The apartment is modern, comfortable and well equipped. The large roof terrace has fantastic views.
La Azohia is a real find. It is very pretty and relatively quiet even in August. The beaches are good and the water shelves gently making them very safe for children.
This apartment is absolutely perfect for a family holiday.

A lovely, well maintained & clean apartment with high spec & very comfortable facilites.
I really liked the roof top solarium for sunbathing & the spectacular sunsets across the bay.

Fortunately the area itself does not suffer from the overdevelopment of some other coastal parts of Spain and is rather peaceful.
The sea & local village are both within easy walking distance & I found loads of interesting places to explore on foot, by car & even local transport.

I will certainly go back to this apartment to explore further & have recommended it to several friends.
