This beautiful comfortable, well furnished apartment, in its small exclusive complex, with own private patios and communal pool, is only 5 minutes walk from all major amenities (bank, shops, markets, restaurants) and the stunning 7 kilometers of the Mar Menor beaches. Take a gentle stroll along the 'paseo' which is lined with cafes and play areas on one side and the beaches of the Mar Menor on the other, where water sports facilities can be enjoyed. Several golf courses can be found locally, 2 recently opened in Los Alcazare, including the famous La Manga Club. The historic cities of Murcia and Cartagena are but a short drive away. This area benefits from having on average 320 days of sunshine per year so obviously the resort can be busy at the height of the season (July and August), but is a peaceful, tranquil retreat for the rest of the year. The apartment is a 10 minute, 10 Euro taxi ride from Murcia (San Javier) airport. A car is not essential, but is useful for exploring the area.

Los Alcazares offers the visitor a huge choice of activities; water sports, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis, cycle hire, go karts, boat trips, spa baths, golf, local markets, good food and dancing. The apartment is close to the expanding area of Los Narejos, which provides a host of bars, restaurants and shops. We are close enough to enjoythe facilities, but far enough away not to be disturbed by the activities. The beautiful clean beaches which are very close to the apartment are long and sandy, lined with a wide promenade, 'the paseo', is popular with both visitors and locals. The Mar Menor has warm, calm, shallow waters and is popular for bathing and water sports. Calblanque, a short drive away, is a tranquil natural park with wildlife and spectacular, unspoilt, quiet beaches on the Mediterranean coast. Los Alcazares is situated in the 'Campo de Cartagena', the market garden of Murcia which inland from the coast is a flat plain bounded on three sides by mountains.

Notes: The apartment comprises a large lounge/dining area, a separate kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 1 four piece bathroom. Outside there are 2 private terraces with tables and chairs, the rear terrace having direct access to the communal pool (open May to October). A guest manual is provided giving details of things to do, places to go and sights to see in the locality. A welcome pack is provided so that you don´t have to rush to the shops as soon as you arrive. Although use of a car is recommended for seeing sights outside Los Alcazares, you can do everything in town without a car. Owners live nearby for additional help and advice.

The apartment is clean, well layed out and equipped. It is an easy flat walk to the sea and to the shops.
The owners were delighful and provided a warm welcome.
If travelling further afield I would suggest renting a car.
The Chinese restaurant was excellent value.
