Close to Murcia airport, 2 minutes walk from local supermarket, shops, bars and restaurants; only 10 minutes walk to one of the nicest beaches in the area with blue flag awards. Also within walking distance to various other restaurants including Spanish, Italian, Chinese, English and Indian. This large first floor apartment is furnished to a very high standard, with a 37' plasma TV with 40 UK channels. it is suitable for elderly or disabled with the use of lifts and wheelchair access. It has 2 bedrooms with twin beds and fitted wardrobes, a bathroom with shower and bath, a spacious kitchen with separate laundry area and a large balcony with table and chairs overlooking the huge pool. On a secure complex with electric gates and intercom phones. Located close to all amenities a car is not necessary. Pick-up to and from the airport can be arranged.

Los Alcazares is situated in Spain's Murcia region, known as the Costa Calida. The town sits on the shore of the Mar Menor (one of Spain’s best kept secrets), a saltwater lagoon separated from the main sea by a 22km long strip of land, called La Manga. For families with small children the clean sandy beach is very safe, with shallow warm water and no tide, which hosts a variety of watersports. There is also an attractive 7km promenade dotted with numerous beachfront bars and cafés which provide a variety of food and drinks. The area has an average of 320 days sunshine each year with warm summers and mild winters. There is a lively local market on Saturday & Tuesday where selections of bargains are available. For golfers there are at least 7 golf courses (4 of international standard) located within a short drive including the popular La Manga Club. The historical Moorish cities of Murcia & Cartagena are easily reached by car and worth a visit for sightseeing and shopping.

The Mar Menor (Little Sea): The beaches along the Mar Menor in Los Alcazares are all interconnected with beautiful promenades that are fully equipped with chalets, seating areas, fountains, bicycle lanes and access points for the handicapped. The Mar Menor is a saltwater lagoon of 128 square kilometres with an average temperature that is 5 degrees above that of the Mediterranean. The area enjoys an average of 320 days of sunshine each Year, which allows many residents and tourists alike to enjoy the mineral-rich water of the Mar Menor. The water is renowned for its health-giving properties as well as being an ideal location in which to practice all types of water sports. Regattas, canoeists, windsurfers and kite-surfers are commonly seen in- the lagoon.

Due to its idyllic location on the Mar Menor Los Alcazares is an extremely popular tourist destina¬tion for Spanish nationals and other Europeans who are lucky enough to discover this picturesque area. The name Los Alcazares comes from the Arabic word Al Kazar, which means palace or house of nobles. The Arabs built magnificent holiday homes and viewed Los Alcazares as a place of relaxation. The Moors discovered the excellent medicinal benefits of the Mar Menor and to this date it is listed by the World Health Organisation as one of the healthiest places on earth. The Moors used the ancient Roman baths in Los Alcazares, which still stand today.

We had a great stay at this apartment! It was exactly as described and in beautiful condition when we arrived. Plenty of room for the five of us and very well equipped. The kids said it was the best pool they had ever been in. We had a car but you could easily get by without one - the airport is close (3 mins in car) but noise not a problem. There is also a supermarket/shopping centre next door and plenty of restaurants within walking distance - recommend the 3 euro breakfast at The Arches and full meals at The Penny Farthing. The owner of the apartment was a real gentleman to deal with and deserves to do well. Can't wait to go back!

Excellent Holiday

We had an excellent holiday at this apartment. Steve the owner was most helpfull and arranging the holiday was very easy. The apartment was very clean and in an ideal location to visit the area. It was well equiped and I would reccommend this apartment to everyone. This was the 15th year we have visited Los Alcazares. The pool was superb and very clean. It was never very busy and you always had space to lay by the pool or swim. The restaurants at El Oasis and Mercadona were excellent with a wide choice ranging from Mediteranean, Chinese, Indian, Italian and English food. The Hot Wok Buffet, Pinocho, and the Chinese Restaurant at El Oasis and El Patio near Mercadona are among the best restaurants in the area.The Three Gringo's at El Oasis however, offered a poor meal THIS year offering reheated Chilli on a Sunday as the chef had gone for the day - dissapointing as we have had good meals there in the past. Toreviaja is a 20min drive up the coast and Benedorrn is 11/2 hour away. Motorway tolls have risen sharply over the last few years. Aquapolis and Tera Mitica are well worth a day visit as is Jet Skiing and water sports at La Manga again 30 mins away by car. The beaches at Los Alcazares are superb with the water being shallow and suitable for families. In all an excellent holiday and Los Alcazares has something for everyone.

My family and i visited this apartment in 2006 and 2007 and are looking forward to our 3rd visit in June 2008
The accomodation is very clean and well presented and just a 5 min drive from San Javier airport. It is on the middle of three floors and is well served by a lift. The large swimming pool, which has a gated entrance, also has a section for small children. The clean beach is about 15 minutes walk and is ideal for all ages, the mar menor is very calm and you can walk well out in the water. A shopping centre is very close by and food can be obtained here. Los Alcazares town centre is nearby and restaurants are plentiful. A short drive away is a large shopping centre called Dos Mares. Head south for 20 minutes and the town of Cartegena is a really good place to explore the old historic buildings and walk along the dock bay featuring the worlds oldest submarine.This accomodation i would highly commend to anyone thinking of a holiday in this unspoilt area.Steve, the owner of the apartment has been excellent to deal with and i look forward to many trips here in the future.
