Los Alcazares:
Under ten minutes drive from Murcia/San Javier International Airport, which has frequent flights to and from London Stansted and many other UK and European cities. Alicante airport offers even more flights, and is less than one hour's drive away. Los Alcazares was named after the palaces that stood in medieval times and is still unspoiled, retaining much of its original Spanish charm. Many of the narrow streets lead directly to the seven kilometre, sandy, Blue Flag beach and there are plenty of restaurants and beach bars providing a wide range of cuisine. Offering a non-package-tour environment Los Alcazares, with its wonderful all year round climate, has something for all seasons.
Mar Menor:
Los Alcazares sits on the Mar Menor, a unique inland sea, separated from the Mediterranean by a narrow, 22 kilometre long strip of land called La Manga. The Mar Menor, only 7 metres deep at its deepest point, has an average water temperature of a warm 22 degrees in the summer, making it a paradise for bathers and water-sports enthusiasts. The area also offers opportunities for horse-riding, tennis and other activities, and no less than seven golf courses can be found within a short drive from Los Alcazares town.
The mineral-rich water of the Mar Menor is revered for its health-giving properties and the town still has thermal baths which have existed since Roman times. The fertile countryside exhibits evidence of ancient Moorish occupation, and year-round weekly markets offer fresh produce from the region, which typically enjoys 320 days of glorious sunshine per year.

Car Hire: If you are flying to Murcia, our Agent will meet you and can reserve a taxi. Car hire is not essential as the Town and Beach are within easy walking distance, but cars can be rented on arrival at either Murcia or Alicante airport or reserved by 'phone prior to arrival.
