Polaris World La Torre Golf Resort:
Polaris World La Torre Golf Resort is a 5* luxury resort on a secure site with entry and exit through security gates. The Townhouse is situated overlooking the 12th Fairway of the Jack Nicklaus designed 18 hole, par 68 golf course and enjoys magnificent views of the golf course and lake. The area where the Townhouse is situated is very quiet. On the resort, by the spectacular waterside village, there are a variety of restaurants and bars including, a Spanish Tapas restaurant, Italian restaurant, Encina - a fantastic buffet restaurant, Irish Clover Bar/Pub, Bamboo Fusion Restaurant/Bar, Paella Restaurant on the lake and an Ice Cream Parlour. There is also a reasonably priced, well stocked Supermarket and a Health and Beauty Centre. The 200 room 5* Crown Plaza Hotel has recently been completed, which includes a Spa and restaurant. Facilities include Bank, Internet Cafe, shopping centre, Medical Centre, travel shop.
The Townhouse:
The house overlooks the 12th Fairway with magnificent views of the golf course and lake, in a very quiet location, but only a few minutes walk from the Town Centre of the Resort. There are 3 terraces in which to sit, eat or sunbathe. Living areas and bedrooms all have air conditioning (very quiet) and there is also central heating. Bedrooms also have ceiling fans. There is 30+ Channel Satellite TV viewed on a 32' wall mounted LCD TV + DVD. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave etc. The very spacious first floor terrace, boasting magnificent views of the golf course and lake, is accessible from either the bedroom or the landing and is supplied with 4 sunbeds and an additional dining table, chairs and parasol. Bathrooms are spacious, fully tiled with heated towel rails. Bed linen, towels and bath mats are supplied which are supplied. There is a telephone in the house enabling receipt of free incoming calls from locally and abroad.
The Region:
The region of Costa Calida or 'warm coast' is known for its mild, all year Mediterranean climate. Murcia is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt regions in Spain with a diversity of historical, artistic and gastronomic tradition. Just a short drive from the house you can discover the cultural heritage of the region, spend time on one of the many Blue Flag beaches or enjoy watersports on the Mar Menor Sea. Cartagena is just 20 kilometres away and is an ancient port with ruins of a Roman theatre and several museums. About 20 minutes drive from La Torre is the ancient city of Murcia. It has a good selection of high street brand shops and a very large Corte Ingles Department Store. Among the back streets and heading towards the Cathedral you will find little side streets with exclusive shops and boutiques. Local markets are open all year and there is a different one for every day of the week.
Golf:
The golf course at La Torre was designed by Nicklaus Design and offers 18 holes, par 68 and 4 sets of tees. The course features over 5 hectares of sophisticated bunkers that separate the holes, creating strategic points which provide added value to the shots, plus a denser grass that has been planted around the bunkers, creating the optimum wind shot effect. The course is ideal for both average players as well as those with a high handicap. Those staying at La Torre can also use the golf facilities of other Polaris World Resorts including the Mar Menor which is only a 10 minute drive away. There are many other courses available in the area including the famous La Manga Club, Hacienda Del Alamo, La Finca, Mosa Trajectum, Las Rambles, Villamartin and Campoamor. It is the ideal place for a golfing holiday in Spain.
