Mar Menor Golf Resort holiday villa: Mar Menor Golf Resort

We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday with lovely beaches and places to eat out just 10 minutes drive away. A car is an essential!
The villa was exactly as stated in the website description and Luz was very prompt in sending the key to us the week before we were to travel. On our arrival, there was a milk, juice, wine and small cakes had been left there for us - a lovely welcome!
We were travelling with our 1 year old daughter so a good quality, nicely-kept cot and highchair were provided for us by the owner. There were also beach towels at the villa that we could use - very handy when travelling with a little one and not enough weight allowance!!!
Given the baking hot weather we had last week, the air con was a godsend and very effective in the lounge area. The bedrooms have ceiling fans which were also very effective.
Outside, there is a shaded dining area but the pool gets the sun all day - perfect if you're a sun-worshipper like my husband! A small grassed area near the pool is also great for little ones to play on and there is a big sun shade provided if you want to keep that area protected for them. We found it an ideal spot to put our daughter's paddling pool. There is no fence around the pool at the villa, however, so with toddlers you will need eyes in the back of your head- nothing unusual there!!! :-)
On the complex there is a supermarket which is fine for essentials (bread, milk etc) but overpriced, however there is a large Carrefour hypermarket not far up the motorway - ca. 15-20 mins drive - which was much better for the initial bigger shop we needed to do.
The big pool on the complex can be used by people renting villas at a charge of 5 euros per person for the day (at the hotel pool, however, this is 10 euros per person).
We didn't use the restaurants on the complex, though there was a pizzeria, mexican and others, as well as a couple of bars. Prices looked reasonable.
