This villa was used in the Polaris World adverts with stunning views over the fairway and lake. Superb & exclusive detached luxury villa with two sun terraces. Fully air-conditioned with gas central heating. 4 bedrooms, 1 double 3 twin, 1 twin converts into a super king sized bed, all with quality beds and built-in wardrobes. 3 bathrooms all with shower screens. The luxury kitchen has a centre island with hob, oven and extractor hood. Fully fitted with all equipment including dishwasher, microwave with grill and oven facility, large fridge freezer, kettle, toaster. Dining table extends to seat 8. Laundry room with washing machine. Mar Menor Golf Resort is a luxury 5 star resort with an Intercontinental Hotel. The resort has every facility one expects from a luxury resort, exceptional restaurants, and bars. 24 hour security, medical facilities, supermarket, hairdressers etc all on site. It is surrounded by countryside and beautiful mountains. The town of Torre Pacheco is 3 km away, typically Spanish with quaint squares and a wealth of restaurants and bars to try. The coastal town of Los Alcazares is 7km away with everything a holiday town has to offer. There are numerous beach bars and restaurants where you can enjoy tapas or excellent meals and 2 weekly markets for browsing and getting that bargain. You can walk along the beautiful promenade with views over the Mar Menor to La Manga on the other side. Fishing boats and miles of sandy beaches complete the picture. Notes: This luxury villa stands in 650 sqm of land. It has a separate games room with a pool table, air hockey and darts. There is also a separate gym with multi-gym, weights, treadmill, bicycle and stepper. The Jacuzzi seats 7 and the heated pool also has a seating area in it. The ample garden is laid half to lawn and the other is terraced with teak tables and chairs to seat 10. There are also sunbeds to soak up the sun in by the pool. A full range of plastic glasses and towels are supplied for use in the pool area. The garden, complete with palm trees & orange & lemon trees, is behind the 4th tee with the mountains in the distance. This is the perfect place for a BBQ or to simply sit & watch the golden sunsets with a chilled glass of wine! We have made this a ´home from home´ with DVD’s, CD’s, books, board games, etc. Everything you might need - with the accent on luxury & comfort. Although it is on a golf course this villa will make a memorable holiday for anyone, not just golfers!

Climate and Temperatures: The World Health Organisation classifies this part of Spain as the healthiest in Europe with approx 300 days of sun and 2800 hours of sunshine which equates to around 9 hours a day of beautiful blue skies, warm days and fire red sunsets. The sun setting over the lake gives just the right backdrop for your ´sundowners´.

Holiday Guide: We have included in the villa a comprehensive guide of the whole area with places to visit. This includes all the neighbouring towns and resorts together with a list of all local golf clubs, and places of interest. Also all the local markets and fiestas. These fiestas are well worth looking out for. The Spanish have a real joy for life which is bourne out by their colourful and impressive fiestas. In January there is the Carnival to look forward to. At Easter the whole area is a must from the Medieval Fair in Los Alcazares to the pageant of the Easter parades in Cartagena and in most of the surrounding towns. The rest of the year has the festival of the Moors and the Christians and each towns own fiesta.

Restaurants & Bars: Los Alcazares has some of the best restaurants around. From La Encarnación, on the sea front where time seems to have stopped. It is a spa hotel built in 1904 with the most beautiful walled courtyard full of plants and flowers and shaded in the heat of the day. In the summer they have live music to dance the night away with the sea two paces away. The food matches the ambiance. Ramon´s on the High Street is famous for its tapas and its seafood. The menu of the day is great. Roblemar also has magnificent fish. We also have Italian, Chinese, Indian, Mexican in fact Los Alcazares has food to tempt anyone.

Golf: This is a private Dave Thomas 18 holegolf course. You must have a maximum handicap of 28 for men and 36 for ladies. HANDICAP certificates are obligatory, as are proper dress and footwear. The course is reasonably flat but buggies are available. The lakes and large sand traps make it challenging. The course is kept in excellent condition. Enjoy your golf!

A little TLC required

We were a family group of 8 and the facilities offered at this villa attracted us to it. The villa is lovely, but it is a little tired and needs some attention. The games room was a feature which attracted us but the pool table had no white ball, the shuffle hockey table is broken and the dart board loose on the wall. While we were there a picture fell off a wall and could easily have injured a child and the inside door handle came off the door (self-help fixed it). The kettle was leaking with use, and there were left over fresh vegetables in a cupboard. These are all small things and could easily be sorted but only if attention is paid between visitors. The worst thing was the BBQ which was filthy and unusable and a great disappointment. We would book again, but only with assurances that these areas were fixed. A great holiday location and we did not let these things spoil our holiday - they could have made a whole lot better though!
Owner's Response: We are sorry that the villa didn´t meet with the guests requirements and it is true that it needs a little TLC. It is infact due to the villa being so popular this year and having been booked almost solidly since April that some
running repairs have not been caught up with. It is, in fact, due for an overhall in November when we have a few weeks break.

Specifically to the points:-
1. the picture has been in place for 3 years and had not fallen down before - it apears to have happened when the door is slammed.
2. the white ball has been stuck in the pool table base - this can happen to anyone.
3 The air hockey was not reported until check out and now has been fixed.
4. The BBQ was not reported until check out and is indeed not usable. This is not through dirt but since the heavy rain it has rusted. A new gas BBQ is now in place.
5. Again both the dart board and the kettle were not reported until after they left - these have been dealt with.
6. The fresh vegetables were left by mistake and we take full responisility for that.

It really helps us if guests let us know as soon as they have any complaints or breakages rather than wait until they leave. Luckily even in a large villa like ours in the main things do work smoothly and people have a great
time.

Lovely villa with great views

The description of the villa was very accurate and we were pleased with the standard of the accommodation, the cleanliness of it and equipment provided. Some of the equipment in the gym room had seen better days but the beautiful air-conditioned gym on the complex more than made up for this. The neighbour, who is a resident, could not have been more friendly, welcoming or helpful. I would certainly recommend this villa to a friend, as the quality was very good and the aspect fantastic, overlooking the course, and we would not rule out returning in the future. There were plenty of beach towels kindly provided at the villa, so don't use up your luggage allowance taking them, like we did! One of the restaurants in the resort hotel is currently closed and due to re-open mid-July 2008 (aqva restaurant). There is another in the hotel, where you can dine on the terrace overlooking the hotel pool which was very nice indeed, but a little pricey. We did not find the restaurants mentioned in Los Alcazares and generally thought it was a little commercialised with lots of english-type eateries. Cartagena was a lovely, attractive town with a naval port with great tapas bars and more traditional eateries and worth a visit. The amphitheatre there is currently closed for renovations, and a large part of the old quarter is being restored. All in all, we had a great week - we are not a family of golfers, but still enjoyed the setting thoroughly and are now tempted!
