A traditional townhouse located in the much sought after village of Los Belones, 5 minutes from the La Manga Golf Club. The local beach, the Mar De Cristal is a 5 minutes drive with many more beaches along the La Manga strip - 10 minutes by car. The house is situated in a village square opposite a park with fountain. Around the corner we have a wonderful variety of shops bars & restaurants, including Italian, Indian, traditional Spanish (wonderful tapas) & a lovely bar overlooking the Mar Menor. There is a lovely front patio/terrace with cane furniture, downstairs shower room, fitted kitchen, lounge with leather settees & chairs with a lovely dining room seating 6, with chandelier. Upstairs there is a large family bathroom with bath/shower & bidet & 4 bedrooms (only 3 available to rent). Two extremely comfortable double bedrooms and 1 room with 2 singles. All rooms have airconditioning and mosquito nets. There is also a back patio with a large BBQ, table and seating for six.

Los Belones is a historic traditional Spanish village lying 5 minutes from the beautiful Mar Menor. The area is not over-developed and staying in the house will give you the opportunity to experience the real Spain. At the same time you will be close to the most wonderful bars and restaurants, although there are fantastic meat and fish shops in the village along with a weekly fruit and veg market which gives you a chance to dine al fresco on the patio! The area boasts white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, wonderful diving and windsurfing and a fantastic National Park 'Calblanque'. The lovely fishing port of Cabo De Palos, with its weekly Sunday market is a must, along with Cartagena - this stunning city with many historical sites is the home of the Spanish Navy and the birthplace of the submarine, its port and wonderful streets lined with shops, bars and restaurants is the best place to sit and 'people watch'. Another historic city Murcia is also only a 30 minute drive.

There are lovely views of the park and fountain with mountains in the background at the front and the La Manga golf club in the distance from the rear. There is full hot and cold air conditioning in all the bedrooms.

Notes: Safe provided in downstairs cloak cupboard - details sent with keys. Outside seating areas - Front - cane settee & 2 chairs with matching table for drinks - very safe being behind locked gates. Back - extremely private - winter sun trap, having large BBQ, glass table, 6 chairs with cushions and large umbrella. There are BBQ tools & lovely lanterns with large candles to add to the ambiance. We have a very large selection of CDs, DVDs books, guide books, phrase books & local information. We have a lovely large round wooden wine rack with the best wine openers - a must for the wonderful Spanish Rioja sold in our local 'Cueva'. We have also provided many games including, dominos, chess, draughts, quizzes, darts & boules (petang) in Spanish. There is also a selection of beach games for the children. The kitchen has a good selection of cooking utensils & pans etc. There is a cafeterie for that essential 'cafe solo' & a juicer with a good range of glasses for wine, brandy etc.

Golf: The house is less than a five minute drive from the world famous La Manga Golf Club Resort and numerous other golf courses in the area. 13 of the best courses are within a 40 minute drive. The best of the rest include, Torre Pacheco, Mosa Trajectum, Roda Golf, Hacienda Del Alamo, Altorreal Golf, Villamartin, La Marquesa, Greenlands Golf Complex, Real Club De Golf, Campoamor, Las Rambles Club De Golf, La Finca and La Serena Golf Resort and Los Alcazares.

Scuba Diving: The old fishing port of Cabo De Palos has many diving schools and coves that are very popular with scuba divers around the area. The Calblanque National Park, which is practically on our doorstep has some wonderful scenery and can be enjoyed in the car, on horseback, by bicycle or even better 'on foot'. There are some wonderful nature trails and walks to be enjoyed just up the hill at the back of the village. The views from the top are truly amazing and there are miles of quiet sandy beaches and coves lying at the foot of the hills alongside the Med.

Our 'Place in the Sun': Casa Marilice is not our holiday home, it is, our future retirement home and has been furnished as such. We have spent the last four years searching all the various Costas and immediately fell in love with the Costa Calida and especially Los Belones. It is a wonderful area with beautiful views, marvelous weather, friendly people and THE most fantastic food and wine in Spain. All in all - a good place to live or have a wonderful holiday exploring this new and fascinating region. Whether you are coming to look at property yourself or just to spend a week or two 'chilling' we are sure you will go home with lasting impressions of this fantastic place. NOTE:- Inside the house is no smoking but smoking is allowed on the front and rear patio/terrace areas. We would be willing to rent for short-stays/weekends, or longer rental periods - please e-mail for details.

Beautiful house in Los Balones

A beautiful house, very well equiped and like a home from home with plenty of English music and DVDs to choose from. It was very hot when we visited and the air con in the bedrooms was an absolute god send.
The village itself was charming and had plenty of very good restaurants covering a variety of tastes and price range. There was in particular a very good cheap Spanish restaurant and a good portaguese called Oasis.
You do need to hire a car to get out and about but its well worth it as there are all sorts of different beaches and coves to explore from the hustle and bustle of the Mar Menor which is very still and good for children to the cablanque beaches.
We also visited La Manga golf club where despite being gated you can just drive in and sample the shops, bars and restaurants and la Manga strip with the mar menor one side and the mediteranian the other!
We particularly liked cablo palos with its lovely port, light house and weekly market.
Overall a very good base to get out and about and explore the real spain without hoards of tourists. We speak no Spanish but got by with a couple of Phrase books, a little effort, lots of pointing and friendly, helpful people.

Everything as described about the property on the web site is very true , when we arrived we where so surprised how lovely the place is and how homely .
Everything you need for days out is there for you to use (picnic things etc). We didn't have any problems with bookings etc and it was lovely and clean when we arrived with a welcome pack to start you off on your holiday. I have recommended this property to friends and already one has been.
The town centre is lovely to walk around and there are plenty of really nice restaurants to choose from. You would need a car to explore around the area and things are not too far away.
Over all we enjoyed this holiday very much and we could'nt fault it at all .
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

I stayed in this house last year and i have booked it again for this year. It is a fantastic house with everything that you require. It is very clean and well maintained. For a family of six it is very spacious. It is in a lovely village with great restaurants and there a good local shops .
The owner of this house provides a good customer service. I would highly recommend this house.
Recommended for:  Tourists without a Car, Families with Young Children
