Mazarron holiday house

This is our second visit to Carpe Diem, and we are already looking forward to visiting again.
The villa is beautifully appointed, comfortable and spacious. The outside area is the main selling point, with its generous sized pool and terraced area, with a great BBQ for those warm evenings.
A lot of work has been carried out in the port, which has definatly improved the area, but at the same time managed to retain the Spanish charm you expect from this part of Spain. The beaches are well maintained and the snorkling in the area proved to be a major bonus, seeing different scholes of fish and an octopus.
For those not wishing to cook for themselves, there is a great selection of restaurants to choose from. A well informed choice of restaurants can be found in the information folder found in the villa, provided by Pete & Caroline, the lovely owners of this great villa, as well as a huge list of other attractions in the area.
You are made to feel at home here, there are even photos of the owners beautiful grand children on display.

We will have many pleasant memories of our holiday in Mazarron for some time to come. We found the villa delightful both inside and out. It was comfortable and spacious and was ideal for us (as a family of 6) for we had our own space if we wanted it. We had a short guided tour on arrival to explain all the practicalities then Martine left us to start our holiday in earnest.The pool proved very popular - it was used every day - and it was lovely to come back to if we were out for the day. The area itself was charming, (Camposol is a slice of little England with sun!). and neighbours we came into contact with were very friendly. There were lots of places to visit not too far away. We particularly liked Totana, Aguilas and the Mar Menor.Also a spectacular boat trip round Cartagena port.
All in all a very enjoyable time had by all and thoroughly recommended.

This summer was our third visit staying at Carpe Diem and I would wholeheartedly recommend this villa to anybody.

Firstly, the owners are very organised and they provided us with lots of useful information including directions, local attractions and first hand reviews of a number of restaurants.

The lady who meets you at the villa to give you your keys when you arrive is friendly, helpful and punctual. The villa is kept very clean and you immediately notice that it is well maintained. (Personally, I would also recommend pre-ordering the welcome pack for when you first arrive; we’ve found that after a long day’s travelling, it’s nice to have some essentials in the villa waiting for you).

What we like about Carpe Diem is the space. The lounge and dining areas are a very good size, the bedrooms are bright and airy with plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space and the bathrooms are perfect for those with small children.

My favourite feature of Carpe Diem is the pool area. The pool is clean, it’s in the sun all day so it retains its warmth and it’s a perfect size for the family. (We stayed in La Manga a few years back at a very nice villa on Polaris World. The villa was beautiful, the golf was good but the pool was tiny, cold and not a scratch on the pool at Carpe Diem. And if I mentioned it once, I mentioned it a thousand times).

This year we arrived to find that the owners have built a new sun shade area which was perfect for sitting under sipping cold drinks and either reading, sleeping or helping the wife with her Sudoku. There’s also a terrific barbecue which we used quite a bit plus meal times can be either inside the villa, on the front porch or by the pool area. It makes a nice change when you can suit yourself.

A couple of final thoughts – a number of new restaurants and shops have opened up about 5/10 minutes drive away from the villa and the new, large supermarket does come in very handy. Also the port of Mazzaron has been redeveloped over the last few years and we think it’s a top place to visit for restaurants and clean, sandy beaches.

The best thing I can say about Carpe Diem is that after every visit, the wife always starts planning when we can go back.
