Playa Paraiso holiday house: La Manga

Nice, modern and well fitted out place. the owner made the booking process as easy as possible for us. Complex is clean, well cared for and excellent pool meticulously maintained. Many people in the complex are owners so really care for their properties. The aircon was useful in the peak season and works very well. A hire car is recommended if you stay here, these are safely parked up overnight within the gated complex, you get a remote to operate the motorised gates. We never used public transport so have no experience of whats available. I know that the complex caretaker sometimes will do airport transfers if required. Playa Honda/ Playa Paraiso has a fantastic beach and the most amazing sunsets, great for chilling at the beach bar come sundown. Shallow, clean and still waters until way out are great for the kids or just relaxing without being overcrowded like at the usual English tourist favorites. The beach is only busy at the weekend when the Spanish owners spend their weekends there.

Playa Honda itself only offers a few small shops, although the small supermarket has most things you could need. There are a couple of places to eat which are reasonable but jump into a car and travel 10-15 minutes, the choices are then endless.

There is enough food and drink wise within brief walking distance between the house/pool and the beach during the day but if you want more you will need a car. Its very Spanish and is quiet during the week, it feels very undiscovered and many people speak no English but still you quickly feel at home here. This is definetely an up and coming area and at the moment you really feel like you have discovered the next thing. The beauty of the location is that you can drive such a short period of time in any direction on the fantastic road network and eat at a totally different resort every evening.If you have a sat nav with Euro maps stick in in your case to make travelling even easier. Large supermarkets are easily found in a few minutes drive if you want to cater for yourself, we prefered to just put drinks, ice creams and munchies in the fridge/freezer and adventure somewhere different every evening to eat out. We then enjoyed a nice bottle of wine or two once we returned, kids tucked up in bed and the car parked up. Being sat on the patio late into the night, chatting with a few people and having a nice glass of wine was very relaxing indeed. We really didnt want to come home and booked again as soon as we came home!
