Beautiful, tranquil, sympathetically modernized finca set in large grounds amongst almond and olive trees. Enjoy beautiful mountain sunsets whilst sitting out on the arched terrace overlooking the pool. The terrace provides daytime shade and along with the old thick walls helps to keep the house cool. Side steps in the L-shaped 10 X 5m pool provide easy access for children to the shallow 1m end. Note, not salty like the sea. Well-located the villa is a 30 minute drive from San Javier (Murcia) airport and 1 hour from Alicante. The lively beaches at Mazarron and the Mar Menor are close. Murcia (new waterpark) 30 minutes away and the historic port of Cartagena with its Roman ruins 20 minutes. Fantastic San Javier Jazz Festival in July. Fuente Alamo's shops, traditional restaurants and Saturday market are 5 kms away. The new Dave Thomas designed golf course at Hacienda del Alamo is nearby. Aljorra is 2 kms away with bank, small shops and restaurants. Wonderful spa at Archena.

The property is located in a rural part of the outskirts of Cartagena, set amongst the mountains and surrounded by almond and olive trees. With views from the nearby mountains of La Manga and the Mar Menor, there is easy access to the popular Mar Menor beaches within 30 minutes by car and the traditional Spanish city of Cartagena within 20 minutes. The location offers easy access to numerous golf facilities, the nearest being Hacienda del Alamo, just 10 minutes by car along with Mosa Trajectum, Polaris Resorts and Roda Golf within a 30 minute drive. The wonderful scenery and quiet location provides the opportunity to hire bicycles to explore or take advantage of the mountain walks. Wine is produced locally, and can be tasted at the vineyards in Jumilla, providing a really enjoyable day out. There are a number of historical sites in both Murcia and Cartagena. Just north of Murcia is the ancient spa of Archena with indoor/outdoor pools and various treatments available.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Rental rates are based on a letting for 8 people. Extra persons approx. £50 per week. Weekly rental rates are quoted with a changeover day of Saturday. However, some flexibility may be possible, depending on bookings. The rental rate includes bed linen and reasonable cleaning. However, we expect this to mean that the villa requires light cleaning. Towels are not included, but may be added on request. Utilities will be extra and charged according to usage. Extra cleaning, fresh linen approx £50 per week.
    A security deposit of 300 euros is payable on arrival before the keys are handed over. A deposit of 350 euros is required for groups of more than 6 people.
    A 30% deposit is required to secure booking with the balance payable 2 full months before arrival.
    Utilities are extra and 75 euros for cleaning will be deducted from deposit. The full deposit must be handed over to the agent before receipt of keys. Late arrival fee of 30 euros payable to agent for arrival after 6pm

  • The main bathroom has a bath with perspex screen and shower attachment. The ensuite has a Spanish style sink/vanity unit. There is a tiled shower.

  • The main bedroom is very large with door opening onto the veranda. It also has an en suite with walk-in shower. The 'child' bed in bedroom 4 pulls out from under the single bed so is only marginally smaller than an ordinary bed. There is a pull-out sofa bed in the living room for occasional use which is a small double. Bedrooms 2 and 3 have an interconnecting door. To get from bedroom 2 (with the 2 single beds) to the corridor you must walk through bedroom 3, but there is a large wooden screen, if you wish to screen it off. There is also a 'cube' bed which unzips to make a comfortable bed. Travel cot & high chair available

Notes: New Addition. Latest see-through insect proof curtains from the U.S. for the terrace. Simply draw curtains to eat outside, bug free. Wood stove - not a fireplace. Ceiling fans in all the bedrooms. The plot is fenced so that when the gate is locked children cannot wander off. However, the pool is on a raised patio, even though it is fenced, be aware there is a 2m slope/drop behind the fence. Children need watching. There is no fence between the house and the pool. There are also steps from the large terrace down to the pool terrace (see pictures). A salt-water system was installed in March 2007 which is more suitable for allergy/asthma sufferers. No feather duvets in the house. Table tennis table and bats, a net and 2 bats for short tennis. There is also a basketball stand. Indoors there is a PlayStation 2. Spare set of old golf clubs available at the villa - suitable for use at golf clubs by those making up the numbers. All windows have mosquito netting

Saltwater Pool: Please note that the saltwater pool does not taste salty like the sea. There is about the same amount of salt as in a tear drop. Saltwater pools are generally considered better for health than chlorine pools as the water is chlorinated in the filters rather than having chlorine distributed throughout the pool.

MUSIC LOVERS - San Javier Jazz festival : San Javier Jazz festival July 2009 from June 27th until July 25th, and which will include a total of 23 concerts, in 12 nights full of great stars of jazz, blues, bossa nova and rock. - John Fogerty (of Creedence Clearwater Revival fame), in his first concert in Spain, Wynton Marsalis, Steve Winwood, Jorge Ben Jor, Ron Carter , and Randy Crawford & Joe Sample, are some of the most notable names in the XII San Javier Jazz Festival 09. Terra Natura - Murcia: New 2008. Terra Natura nature and water park close to Murcia (half hour drive). Great day out for all.

stayed here in august, had a wonderfull time, villa has everything you need, dont really need to go out execpt for going to supermarket.
owners very easy to deal with, would definatlty use again. ideally you need car, plenty of space in side secure grounds without worrying about kids running off.

Remind yourself what peace and quiet is!

This Finca is a perfect holiday rental for families needing a little space to unwind. We really liked the fact the five children could make as much noise as they liked and the only things to disturb was the wildlife!
The pool is lovely, the fact that it is salt water was really good as my daughter suffers from eczema and normally pools are a no go area for her, but she lived in this one! Sitting on the veranda with a glass of wine watching the sun going down behind the mountains is pure 'grown up' pleasure.
The Customer service we received was excellent, it's a very well looked after, obviously loved holiday home.
We recommend visiting Puerto de Mazzarron for fab child friendly beaches and a great holiday atmosphere in the evening and for a grand day out, Terra Natura is a lovely Zoo and water park combined where you can feed the animals (including giraffes!)
This Finca is a must for a great family holiday that will leave you with lovely memories to cherish.

Our first visit to this finca with our family looking for peace and quiet and that's just what we got! The description of the villa lives up to expectations and all the amenities provided were excellent. We all enjoyed the surroundings and especially the pool. Plenty of scope for sightseeing with Murcia, Cartagena and other cities within a car ride away. A car is essential for this location - all in all a lovely, relaxing holiday for the whole family! Highly recommended for those seeking a tranquil holiday!

Finca, Magdelena, Hacienda del Alamo

We have been to this Finca twice. On both occasions it's excelled in it condition and contents. Very well equipped and appointed. The setting is quiet, peaceful - perfect to just chill. Swimming pool is excellent.
Loads of space to paly games, walks around the area, hills to climb and not too far from the supermarket, town and beach.
Highly recommend it if you want a quiet place with odd car passing near by or local farmers in the fields working. A rural and idiol.

Will go again.

A liitle piece of heaven!

We were looking for a place for the whole family to relax for a week or so at an affordable price. This 4 bedroomed well-loved, beautifully modernised rural finca is it. Although it is only 30 mins from the San Janvier airport, 30 mins from golden sandy beaches (Mazarron-west) and 10mins from the local supermarkets and local farmers market (Fuente Alamo) it is also in a beautifully elevated spot surrounded by typical Spanish mountain landscape north, south, west and east.

My family (2 adults and 3 children, 13, 9, 7) found the villa with plenty of space and fully equipped to spend a relaxing holiday with everything you could possibly need for a week of luxury in the spanish mountains.

Highlights of the holiday included the pristine crystal clear private, 30degC 10 x 5m pool, with inflatables, under water lighting and mountain vista. The golden sandy beaches just west of Mazarron and at Calblanque (30mins drive). The Terra Natura water park and animal park at Murcia (40mins drive) which is a must for any family visiting the Murcia region. The general tranquility of the finca's location.

Thank you for a wonderful holiday, I cannot recommend this spanish accomodation highly enough.

The saltwater pool is one of the best features as it is a little larger than average and there is no chlorine to aggravate your skin. It seems that everyone who stays there loves the setting and enjoys watching the sunset from the pool or terrace.
