Airports & Transport: Murcia airport (MJV) is only 15 minutes away and Alicante (ALC) airport is 1 hour. Both airports are served by both low cost and full service airlines making it easy for you to get here from your local airport.
Car rental is recommended to make the most of the area, however AIRPORT TRANSFERS can be arranged if you prefer not to drive.
BUSES run from Los Urrutias to Los Alcazares, Cado de Palos and Cartagena (summer only). There is also a TRAIN which runs from Los Nietos to Cartagena (all year). We also have a driver who can take you on trips to visit the many beautiful beaches and places of interest in the area for example: Cartagena, Cabo de Palos, Los Alcazares, Murcia, Calblanque Natural Park.
The area is very flat and therefore ideal to explore by BIKE, these can be hired and delivered to the house (you will need to arrange this before your holiday)
Pool Usage and other activities: The pool is situated 5 minutes walk from the house. It is just behind the promenade and next to a café. We specifically chose not to purchase a property which had a pool next door as you would get noise all day from children playing in the pool, in fact this can continue well into the night!
The pool is for the village of Estrella de Mar and is not open to the general public, we provide you with an electronic key to get in. Many houses in the village have pools of their own so it doesn't tend to get overcrowded.
We run a sailing, windsurfing and kayaking centre on the Mar Menor called Aqua Adicta. Our activities are suitable for people of all ages and abilities.
Information on lots of activities is available at the villa including: hiking, thermal baths, golf, diving, bike hire and ountain bike routes, watersports, horse riding, go-karting, bowling, paint-balling etc.
Places to visit: The small Spanish town of LOS URRUTIAS is a short walk (3 minutes) away. It has a grocery store, marina, local shops and a market on Thursday mornings.
A 5km drive takes you to LOS ALCAZARES, an old fishing town that has grown into a popular resort. Excellent shallow sandy beaches particularly safe for children as there are no tides or currents in the Mar Menor lagoon. Also come here for shops, supermarkets, restaurants and bars.
CALBLANQUE Natural Park (10km) is a remote area of gorgeous sandy beaches backed by rocky hills accessible only by a dirt track. Well worth discovering!!
CABO DE PALOS (12 km) has a lighthouse and a lovely old harbour well known for its fish restaurants
The old Moorish cities of CARTAGENA (15km) and MURCIA (30km) are an excellent day trip for their shops, architecture and history (Roman ruins in Cartagena).
LA MANGA DEL MAR MENOR (14km) is the place to go for nightlife, shopping, water activities and great beaches.
