Villa del Olivo is situated on the edge of the small Spanish village of Las Casicas, not in an urbanisation. It offers tranquility, friendly neighbours and your own private pool. Sit on the balcony or terrace, sipping wine, and enjoy the spectacular views or sunsets. There is a BBQ by the pool for those al-fresco meals or join the locals for a drink or a meal in the village bar. Nearby is the small town of Fortuna with its famous Spa. The city of Murcia is a short drive away with beautiful architecture and excellent shopping. Several golf courses are within 1 hrs drive, including Villamartin and Altoreal. Drives of 1-11/2 hrs will take you to lovely beaches, resorts such as La Manga or historic towns. This well equipped detached villa allows you to enjoy a stress-free holiday and our local agent lives close by to help you or give advice. The area is very unspoilt and typically Spanish and offers a great variety of walks in the surrounding Sierra de la Pila. A great place to unwind.

The villa is on the edge of the small village of Las Casicas, about 10 mins.from Fortuna, home of the lovely spa, Banos De Fortuna.The village is just in the mountain National park called the Sierra de la Pila, offering great walking or cycling. The beaches of the southern Costa Blanca such as Guadamar, Santa Pola and Torrevieja are about 1-11/2 hrs. drive while the beaches around La Manga and Cabo de Palos are even nearer. Other places to visit include the beautiful city of Murcia, (20 mins.), Oriheula and historic Lorca with its castle. Elegant Alicante is a fascinating city with the widest promenade in Spain. It also has a large Marina,castle and excellent restaurants. The fast Mediterranean Highway makes it easy to visit many places further north of Alicante. These include the Theme parks of Benidorm or Calpe and Denia.Children will love the Theme Parks of Terra Mitica and the huge Waterpark, just off the Benidorm motorway exit. Golfers will find many excellent golf courses nearby.

Notes to the rental rates

  • RATES ARE REDUCED FROM LAST YEAR AND ARE NOW AT 2004 LEVEL! TO ENCOURAGE AUTUMN BOOKINGS WE HAVE PRICED ALL WEEKS AT OUR LOW SEASON RENTAL OF £300.NORMAL RENT UP TO THE END OF NOVEMBER IS £400. Cleaning and laundry at the end of your stay are included in your rental rates and will be DEDUCTED from your invoice. Cleaning and laundry charges are 85 Euros for up to 4 people and 100 Euros for 6 people.
    We would appreciate it if you could pay these direct to the local agent before departure when you hand the keys back.
    Rates for stays of 3 weeks or more can be negotiated with the owners. Please contact us.
    Please also contact us for details of rates for Christmas and the New Year or for long term lets from October to April.
  • We regret that we must ask for a returnable deposit of £200 for keys and damages. Also a 25% deposit is required, the balance to be paid 8 weeks before departure.

Notes:

The clear mountain air and the height (at 300m above sea level) means that it is not as humid during the hot summer months as it is on the coast. We find that this is particularly beneficial to asthma sufferers. We do provide 4 beach towels so that you do not have to bring your own and add to the weight of your luggage. Please let us know if you have a baby coming with you as we can supply a Spanish 'Graco' type travel cot, a high chair and a small buggy. (The buggy is best for short people only!!) You will need your own cot sheets.

Activities such as Golf, Walking and Painting

The villa is within easy reach of several golf courses, the nearest being Altoreal in Molina de Segura. This has the advantage , at the moment, of being quieter than the ones near the coast and local enthusiasts often prefer to play here where it is easier to book. Full details can be found in the villa. There are some beautiful walks, to suit all abilities, from the villa or you can drive further up into the mountains to one of the National Parks. The stunning scenery and the ever-changing light makes the area ideal for artists.

Spa

Banos de Fortuna is a thermal spa about 15 minutes drive from the villa.It has 2 stunning pools which are fed from natural hot water springs. Here you can be pampered with various beauty and health treatments or just book a swim in the pool. The camp site next to the Banos also has the same hot spring water pool and is more child friendly. For a small charge you can spend time there, using their facilities. Full details of both are in the villa. A second Spa is available at Archena, about 30 mins.away.

Ambience

Everybody who has stayed in our villa has said how relaxed they feel after a few days. The village is not a tourist spot, but home to both Spanish and English families, who will be only to glad to help you and our agents live close by if there are any problems. We aim to enable you to have a stess-free holiday and 'wind down' completely. There is a village bar within walking distance. Fortuna, 10 minutes drive away, has a weekly market and several good restaurants.

Summer 2006: Every thing was fabulous - villa clean. The only thing I would really change is the lack of shade around the pool, so perhaps more brolley’s around the pool. We tried the paella from the village bar - very good. A fabulous place for relaxation. Liz W.

We had a great week at the Villa del Olivo. The villa was spacious and beautifully kept and the pool and gardens were lovely. It was hard to drag the children away from the pool to explore the surrounding countryside and towns but we did and found your recommendations in the folder excellent. The fiesta was a bonus as it was nice to see a real traditional Spanish village fiesta, not to mention the one in Pinoso as well. A. McH.
