Mar Menor Golf Polaris World - There is on-site 24 hour security, a gated entrance providing access to this attractive exclusive holiday resort. The Irish Bar offers entertainment and food, and there is a spectacular communal pool, with parasols and sunbeds, a separate children's pool, patio bar, tennis court and restaurant. There is a supermarket on site, bank and many other leisure facilities, including paddle tennis. The 5* Intercontinental hotel has a further selection of bars, restaurants, spa/fitness centre, day nursery and many more leisure facilities. This resort is the first out of four Polaris World Resorts to be completed in this 'golfer’s paradise'. In October 2009 this golf course was officially opened as an 18 hole course it is a fantastic challenging course for all levels of handicappers. The new Boulevard is finished and is within walking distance of the resort, the first tapas restaurant has opened, together with more bars, restaurants and a nightclub to follow.
Beaches There are many wonderful beaches along the Mar Menor, the safe warm water is rich in minerals and is a paradise for bathers and water enthusiasts alike. The town of Los Alcazeres, a short drive by car, holds two weekly street markets, selling various products such as clothing and fresh food. Its beach is flanked with a large promenade which has a large selection of bars, cafes and restaurants selling fresh seafood and delicious Spanish tapas, bocadillos etc
Sightseeing There is a train station in Torre Pacheco which provides access to the historical cities of Murcia and Cartegana. They have wonderful little plazas surrounded by coffee bars, cafes etc which let you relax and admire the stunning architecture and if you have time, there are numerous shops and restaurants to visit. The countryside in and around Torre Pacheco provides access to national parks and small Spanish villages to enjoy a typical 'menu del dia'.
