The foothills of the beautiful Sierra Navada are blessed with stunning scenery and a lovely climate and the Cortijo (small holding ) is ideal for a relaxed holiday and as a base for touring much of southern Andalucia. The house is traditional Alpujarranian with large living room, kitchen area, open fireplace, Moorish style bathroom with shower, bath & bidet and two bedrooms each with a double bed. Rooms tiled throughout with traditional wooden beamed roof. Four terraced fields with almond, olive and citrus trees. Vines shade the patio in July & August. Easy access -Orgiva all services- walking distance - and short road journeys to Granada and the Sea, beaches and seafood restaurants. Local walks - Local friendly bar - 5 mins walk. Area of outstanding beauty and historical interest - visit the Alhambra in Granada, the cave dwellings in Guadix, horse-ride in the high sierras, walking excursions and bird watching or relax in the garden. Local village Fiestas throughout the summer!

• Arrival & Departure dates to suit you (subject to Availability). Discounts on rentals 3 or more weeks. £80 deposit for each week booked. Payment of balance - 4 weeks prior to rental date. Breakage Deposit £90.00 - to pay with balance. Returned after your stay. In winter months (October - Feb incl) a small charge made for firewood. THE SEASONS- A PERSONAL NOTE FOR PLANNING YOUR HOLIDAY The Winter -December to Feb. Often Sunny and warm by day. You will need a log fire in the evening-very cosy! Great time of the year for cheap flights and car hire. Ideal walking and ski-ing weather.And BEST of All the Almond blossom season starts from beginning of February. SPRING- late Feb to end of May. Temperatures warm up Spring flowers everywhere. Ideal time for touring around / walking / horse riding/ chilling out.May temperatures are perfect!

SUMMER - June to September- Nice and warm!!!! late evenings - music and night life with local Fiestas in all the villages and towns. Great time to spend time on the beach or walking in the High Sierras or summer afternoon lazing in the garden with a good book, wine and sleep.Stay up late.... the skies are magnificient AUTUMN- from October - great spectacle as leaves change colour- Visit the great cities of Granada, Sevilla and Cordoba -not so crowded- and its still warm.

The above are just some ideas for you holiday- but if you don't want to go anywhere the Cortijo offers you - log fires in winter and shade in summer, comfort, peace and fields to wander in or sit. The garden and patios provide a chance to relax with food and wine under the shade of vines in the summer and in sun in winter. There are local walks right outside the house to Lanjaron and to Orgiva- with restaurants and bars and places to buy local foods. There are books in the house and room to relax.
