On the outskirts of the small market town of Órgiva (15 mins walk), in an area almost untouched by development, Cortijo La Viana is one of the most seductive holiday properties anywhere. Surrounded by thousand-year-old olive trees, this delightful, traditionally styled property plus a superb swimming pool, with high mountains providing a breathtaking backdrop, offers you one of the most enticing retreats imaginable. The peace and tranquility are enchanting.

The area is paradise for hill walkers, and there is also horse riding available, and paragliding too. A visit to the tiny whitewashed villages in the mountains is a must. We are half an hour from the coast and an hour from the magical city of Granada with its remarkable Alhambra palace. Then again you may just want to spend your time lazing by the pool, soaking up the sun!

If you don´t fancy cooking, in Orgiva there is a good selection of bars and restaurants, and there are places to eat just out just a few minutes walk away.

The cottage is traditionally styled but built to very high modern standards of comfort. It is well equipped and has a BBQ, and dining terrace too. The pool is superbly situated amongst shady trees, with high mountains providing a breathtaking backdrop; an ideal setting to relax and soak up the sun, or splash around in the water. We are close to the small market town of Órgiva, in an area almost untouched by development. The property nestled in the midst of an ancient olive and orange grove and some of the olives are well over a thousand years old! Just half an hour from the coast and an hour from the magical city of Granada, you can be sure of a deeply relaxing yet stimulating experience. With probably the best climate anywhere in Europe, you have all the ingredients for a truly special holiday.

Órgiva is on the edge of Sierra Nevada National Park (UN Biosphere Reserve), in one of Europe´s most spectacular and peaceful areas, Las Alpujarras. The beauty of the area is quite outstanding with high mountains, snow capped for much of the year, and the fertile Guadalfeo valley providing an oasis of green. The EU has officially classified our skies as the cleanest in Europe!!

1 hour from Granada and 30mins from Salobreña on the coast. Our nearest international airport is Málaga, 2 hours away

Lovely holiday

We had a lovely holiday in this property which was just as described. The owner was friendly and helpful. The pool was cleaned every day and well maintained. It was lovely and peaceful and private. The views were stunning. We found the nearest hotel had an excellent restaurant serving good food surrounded by palm trees and greenery which was only a few minutes walk up the hill. It was easy to find and to get onto the main roads and only took us about 45 minutes to Granada. We explored the mountain villages and felt as if we had experienced unspoilt, real Spain.
