Alcossebre is often referred to as the jewel of the Spanish Mediterranean, an oasis between the sea and the hills, surrounded by orange blossom sand. The Castellon villas in Alcossebre offer great access to the beaches and rural areas of the Costa Azahar.

Vinaros is situated in the north of the Costa Azahar, and is a small tourist haven. For mountaineers, Vinaros and Morello have climbing clubs and access to some excellent routes.

From many of the resorts along the coast, trips to the Columbretes Islands, around 60km off the coast, provide a fantastic day trip. Consisting of four main islands, the Columbretes were declared a nature park due to their staggering natural beauty. The fishing from these islands is magnificent, and only available to non-commercial fishermen.

Castellon is a sporting haven. Within the province, there are a huge variety and choice of market trails for riding, cycling and hiking, as well as three golf courses in the town of Castellon and Borriel. Of shore, fishing, jet skiing, windsurfing, sailing and scuba diving in the crystal clear Mediterranean waters are first class options, and facilities and equipment hire is available from many of the beach resorts along the Costa Azahar.
