However, it is the beaches which really cause a stir with visitors. There are many miles of uninterrupted sand running away to the north of the town for 7km, much of which is lined with a smart new promenade. To the south of a Peniscola villa there is a further 1km of pristine, blue flag beach to enjoy. There will never be a problem finding a good spot on the beach on which to place your towel, and trips out into the Mediterranean are easily arranged from the harbour. Summers are wonderfully long in Peniscola.
