Beaches:
If you can tear yourself away from relaxing around the pool you can take your choice from the lovely beaches of Playa de la Devesa or Playa del Saler both located by the Albufera National Park. If you are after a more social time try the beaches closer to Valencia City, El Purellonet/El Recati, Playa de Lavante/Malvarrosa or Playa de Pinede.
The A7 coastal motorway makes beaches within the Valencia area easily accessible 20 to 30 minutes reach.
If you want to go further afield the Gandia and Olivia beaches are 45 minutes, while Javea, Calpe and Moriara area are only just over an hour away. The area to the north of Valencia is just as easy to get to as the A7 runs right along the coast.
Day Trips:
Take a day trip to Moraira, where you can stroll around the marina then spend some time having a coffee overlooking the town beach or take in the local shops. In the afternoon move on to the very picturesque Moraira village beach, both kids and adults will love the warm shallow sea. Call in at Calpe or Denia and take a stroll along the promenade and have a meal at one of the many restaurants overlooking the sea.
Into boats, sailing and cruisers try the marinas at Club Nautico del Perelle or the Real Club Nautico de Valencia both have a wide range of facilities. You could spend hours looking at the fantastic luxury cruisers lying at anchor.
As to Valencia itself you have so many choices from walking through the gardens of the course of the old river bed which runs right round Valencia to the ultra modern buildings or to the old town. There are so many choices you need to plan well to ensure you take it all in. A good idea is to take the train from Torrent into Valencia.
Countryside:
Valencia is green and fertile compared to areas further south near Alicante. If you are after wilder country then its on your doorstep and a 10 minute drive takes you up into the mountains. The countryside will turn from rolling hills filled with olive, orange, lemon and almond trees to high sided pine covered valleys with different views round each bend.
Walk from the villa down into the orchards and see the local Spanish growing tomatoes, oranges, lemons, peaches, grapes, pears, olives, onions and many other varieties. Fresh fruit straight off the tree with permission of the farmer is how it should be.
Golf:
If golf is your bag then visit one of four courses situated around Valencia, all within an easy drive from the villa.
'Golf Elsaler' is located on the fabulous nature reserve of Albufera National Park, where you can also fish or watch the large flocks of birds. Taking a boat out on the largest inland water in Spain may also be a treat for all the family. Just by the reserve are some great beaches to take a swim and a slow walk as the sun starts to go down.
Other golf courses which maybe of interest include 'Campo de Bosque', 'Escorpion at Betra' and 'Manises'.
