We have just returned from a two week stay in this villa. All we wanted to say is that the previous review and villa photographs are spot on! The villa is beautiful, as was the location. It was very well equiped and spotlessly clean, the linen and towels were even changed half way through our stay. Eric came to clean the pool every few days and was always discreet and quiet so as not to disturb us. We took the train into Valencia several times as there was too much to see in a single visit. The journey was very easy and only cost 7 euros each. The villa owner, Roy, has left instructions on how to get to the most suitable station where there is free parking.
What more can we say really, it was a fantastic holiday and we would thoroughly recommend the villa. You do need to remember that it is quite high up the mountain, which means fabulous view, slightly cooler evenings and wonderfully fresh air, however, it also means that you will need to drive to many places, but as long as you are aware of this it is not a problem, the roads are good and you soon get used to driving up the windy mountain road.
The village of Barx caters for immediate needs but we also went to one of the larger supermarkets in Gandia to stock up on items. Remember that there is not much English spoken here, but you can easily get by with the help of a phrase book and Spanish dictionary.
We also spent several evenings down at Gandia's beach, there are lots of bars and restaurants and it was very family friendly.
Gandia town is also worth visiting, with a number of lovely historical buildings and plenty of places to get a snack or something more substantial to eat.
The owners Roy and Lorraine will provide you with plenty of advice and information and were really helpful when it came to any questions we had.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this villa, it was the best one we have stayed in so far!
