Large property, recently refurbished in a modern style in the centre of the historic Gothic area. Large lounge, with Hi-Fi including MP3, dining table, two sofas, TV. Wi-Fi internet access. Separate large bedroom. Separate kitchen. Advertiser on Holiday-Rentals since January 2004. Ideally suited to a couple who want and apartment with a bit of luxury and a bit of space in an interesting, central area. Balcony overlooking lively square. Walkable to nearly everywhere!! The beaches are only 12 minutes walk away. The apartment is LARGE: 80 sq Meters.

Right in the centre of the interesting Gothic district. 200 meters from Las Ramblas. The large property overlooks a lively square with lots of cafes and bars. The bedroom is quiet - being at the rear of the property with double glazing. 500 meters to the metro (not that you will need it!) PLEASE CHECK AVAILABILITY BEFORE CONTACTING.

  • Rates include electric, gas, cleaning, towels and linen change, every week for bookings of two weeks or more. Your greeter will greet you at the property and show you round the flat. He will also answer any questions you have about the area or Barcelona. You will need to pay the greeter 50 Euros for greeting and cleaning. There are no other charges. He speaks Spanish and English
  • Payment by UK Bank Transfer, Credit Card, Debit Card, or PayPal (not Paypal eCheque)
    75% deposit and 25% upon arrival. For payment other than UK bank transfer there is a charge of 3.4% being the charge we are charged by the credit card company.
    If the booking is more than three months in advance and for at least 4 nights then a lower deposit of £250 will be required.
    A security deposit of £100 and ID may be required.

Nightlife: There is lots of nightlife in the area.

Local, shopping, Restaurants and tourist: Barcelona's main cathedral is 5 minutes walk away. Barcelona's main market is 7 minutes walk away. Most of the best shops are also nearby and walkable. Some fantastic restaurants are 5 minutes walk away.

Other Activities: If you use RyanAir to Gerona it will take you much longer to get to Barcelona. Easyjet and BA are better if possible.

We thought the location was ideal for what we wanted -very central and within walking distance of all 'sightseeing' places…The flat itself was perfect for what we wanted and just as you had described it: we were looking for somewhere a bit different and yet luxurious which is what it was, very minimalist and a great place to get away to. We didn't use the kitchen facilities because we ate out such a lot but they looked fine. We've recommended it to somebody so you may well get somebody else from Chester contacting you, and as we both had such a fantastic time we intend to go back to Barcelona so if we do will contact you again. We stayed in the apartment for 4 nights and we had a wonderful time. The location was fantastic during the day for sight-seeing and in the evening for going to restaurants and bars. I loved having the dressing area to get ready to go out. The locals were all friendly and helpful.

Just what we wanted

I am on my last day of my week long stay in the apartment. I am sat on the balcony in the very warm early evening sunshine enjoying a cold beer, watching the hustle and bustle of the square below me, whilst making use of the wireless internet on my laptop. There is not too much I can add to the reviews already posted. The apartment certainly lives up to expectations in terms of what you get inside, the location and the immediate surroundings and it is a great place from which to explore the city. We haven’t taken a taxi/metro all week and have easily done most of the major sites. You do need to expect the homeless people hanging around the square, but as others have said, we have never felt this to be a problem. There is some wear and tear creeping into the apartment, and the cooking utensils are limited, but these are minor points against an otherwise excellent overall package.

Barcelona on your doorstep

I am a great fan of Barcelona & have been many times over the last 10 years ,previously mainly based in the Eixample. Staying for a second time in this wonderful apartment I can honestly say that I'm really sold on the Gothic area. You really feel that you are in the heart of the city with so many great restaurants & bars just a short walk away. That's not forgetting the beach being on the doorstep too -try 'Ca la Nuri' at Barceloneta for great fish.
The area is of course colourful as you'd expect in such a vibrant city & it's great having the sitting room & balcony overlooking the lively square. The bedroom I should add is a haven of peace being at the rear of the apartment.
The attention to detail & care that have gone into this apartment really make it a comfortable home from home & one that you'd want to return to time & time again.
I can't recommend it highly enough.

Discretely central!

This apartment suited our needs perfectly. I'd come partly to sing in the cathedral which was only a 10 minute walk away. The majority of our visiting choir were accommodated in a hotel, not nearly as convenient to Las Ramblas and with rooms much less spacious and relaxing. We also sang in Montserrat and found it easy to get there using the train; 3 Metro stations are within a short walk. Our greeter, George, was a mine of useful information and speaks excellent English. Restaurants, shops, bike hire and a cool beer are on the doorstep; the sitting room and balcony are great for people watching. The square and building can be noisy but the bedroom is a haven of peace and the bed large and comfortable. Don't be put off by the staircase - heaven's above!
