The apartment is rented by a company that owns a number of similar apartments nearby. The staff is helpful and their office is open during the day on weekdays. It was a clean well maintained place which is a good size for a city residence. Other apartments in the building are privately owned and there was little noise from the other residents. The neighborhood is a densely populated area of 4 to 5 story apartment buildings between the beach and the boat harbor. There are a number of restaurants in the area and a few local markets.
The only problem we had with the apartment was the stairway up to it which was fairly steep and narrow. This apartment is pretty well located for seeing the city either using public transportation or walking. I would not have a problem recommending the apartment to a friend.
A car is not necessary here and cannot be parked on the local streets. You need to use a nearby garage if you have a car

Owner's Response: We greatly appreciate the good review received, thanks so much!.
La Barceloneta is a neighborhood with more than 250 years of history, hence most of the buildings are older than 130 years.
La barceloneta's apartments are called in Catalan "Els quarts de casa" which means 1/4 of a house, due to the fact that all of them are around 33 sqm. In other words, in other parts of Barcelona an apartment may be formed by the sum of 3-4 of them. Our building has been completely renovated and has the original stairs that compared to other stairs can seem steep and narrow, but it is part of the old-city structure and why not say candor as well. Most of the buildings, ours included, are going major renovations to add a lift and bring modernity to the building as well. Kind regards from Banys de Mar.
