This spacious and airy first floor studio apartment is situated in the pretty fishing village of L´Ametlla de Mar, in a quiet location overlooking the harbour, with views out to sea. It is close to the shops, restaurants and bars etc., and the beach is a one minute stroll away. It sleeps 2 and is ideal for a romantic break. The village itself has a variety of excellent bars and restaurants, with some beautiful spots to sit, enjoy a jug of Sangria and watch the world go by, either by the harbour, overlooking the sea, or on one of the two pretty squares in the village. It also boasts three beaches and a lot of work has been carried out to make them beautiful, safe and enjoyable. L ´Ametlla de Mar has its own train station and is on a direct line to historic Tarragona, Port Aventure - the Universal Studios adventure theme park and water park - and the magnificent city of Barcelona.

L ´Ametlla de Mar is situated on the Costa Dorada coastline, approximately 150km from Barcelona City. It is easily accessible from Barcelona Airport, where many airlines operate into the airport from the UK and Ireland. If you choose to hire a car, it is a straightforward drive along the A7 motorway and takes approx 2 hours. Or you can enjoy a train ride right along the coast directly from the airport into the village itself. The nearest airport however, is Reus, approx 30 mins away and Ryan Air flights operate daily, all year round, from London, Liverpool & Dublin. Airport pick-ups can be arranged on request from Reus only.

  • Deposit - A 50% non refundable deposit will secure your booking. Cheque is our preferred method of payment for deposits and there is a cheque admin fee of €7.50. The balance is payable in cash on arrival.
  • Security Deposit - A security deposit of 50 euros, payable in cash on arrival, is required. This deposit will be refunded in full at the end of the holiday, provided the apartment and it´s contents are returned to the property owner in the condition it was found. Any damages, losses or breakages will be deducted from the security deposit.

Places of Interest: Within this area of Catalunya, there is much to see and do. The Ebro Delta Nature Reserve is within a 25 minute drive and is truly stunning. It is one of the few places that pink flamingo can be seen. The tourist resorts of Salou and Cambrils are situated a few kilometres along the coast and are easily accessible by car or by train directly from the village. During the summer months, a glass bottomed ferry will take you along the coast with drop off points at both these resorts. The train from L ´Ametlla de Mar will also take you directly to the historic town of Tarragona and of course to the magnificent city of Barcelona, which is well worth a day visit. There are several excellent golf courses within driving distance of the village.

Local Markets: L ´Ametlla de Mar has a daily indoor market offering fresh fruit and vegetables and fish stalls are set up early each evening on the harbour, selling the local fishermen´s daily catch. Every Monday and Thursday morning, there is also a small outdoor market offering souvenirs, clothes, shoes, leather goods etc. Most of the local towns hold weekly markets (further information is available from the tourist information offices). One of the most popular markets, is the Sunday market at Hospitalet del infant (only 5 mins away). This is a large and bustling market in the Summer.

Very nice apartment.We had concerns about the lack of a secure front door,no curtain facilities in the apartment. a simple wooden rail with curtains would be suffice -very difficult late at night and early morning.
I have raised these concerns with Debbie already in a direct email to her and I hope that she will take the comments on board. Debbie made us feel very welcome-nevertheless I would check if the above raised concerns have been addressed before booking. Overall a nice Spainish area with a good laid back living ethos.
Owner's Response: Just a quick note to address the review submitted on 28th January 2009.
I have indeed taken on board the comments made and am currently seeking to improve the items mentioned. It has however, proved impossible to fix curtain rails, as the walls are original solid rock, about 2 foot thick and impossible to drill into. However, we are looking at alternatives and hope to install blinds of some kind onto the window frames. Also, although the front door to the flat double locks and is secure, we have noted these concerns and are having new locks fitted to the communal door downstairs and a security chain has been fitted to the inside of the front door, for additional security and peace of mind! I would like to emphasise too that the apartment is in a very quiet and safe location, with a good local community.

Beautiful studio - highly recommended!

We visited in May and had an excellent time. The studio was lovely and Debbie was very helpful. The views over the harbour are so nice and it is in a great location for ease of access to the beach and some excellent coastal walks. L'Amettla itself is a lovelt Spanish village with lots of nice restaurants and bars. The hills are only a short distance away too. We will defininetly be coming back soon!

Great Apartment - Great Location

The apartment was great - very clean and well equipped. The owner Debbie was very friendly and helpful. The location is relatively quiet although there are plenty of retaurants and bars and a very nice bread / cake shop just up the road. The apartment has a lovely view of the harbour and there are a few small but sheltered beaches within a very short walking distance. I would certainly recomend it to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday.

Fabulous holiday apartment in lovely location!!

We stayed in this beautiful studio apartment in August 2008 and loved it so much that we have just returned from a short winter break there. Debbie and Andy were very helpful from start to finish, they made us feel very welcome and were available if we had any problems, which we didn't but it was reassuring to know they were.

The apartment is absolutely beautiful, the photos really don't do it the justice it deserves, it has been finished to a very high standard and has many lovely traditional features. And the views from the apartment are fabulous! We found the location of the apartment absolutely ideal, we were able to walk to the beach in 2mins, and to a good selection of restaurants. The town of L'Ametlla was a breath of fresh air, we felt happy and safe to stay out in the town through to the early hours of the morning, and we found that the apartment to be very safe and secure. In summary we would highly recommend this apartment!!! It is ideal for a lovely relaxing holiday, with the bonus a bit of nightlife within easy walk if you want it. We wll be coming back again, thanks again to Debbie and Andy for allowing us to enjoy their apartment.

A Little Gem!!!!

We have stayed here a few times and have always had a great time; this apartment is a little gem!!!
It has views over the bay where you can watch the fishermen bring in their catch. Bars and good restaurants are a very short walk away, as is the lovely beach. We also got a train right into Barcelona & Tarragona (very easy).
The owners are very nice and helpful.

Would recommend this great place – but would rather keep it a secret!!!!
