This penthouse apartment has uninterrupted views to the sea from the large balcony. It is just a 2 minute walk to the beach and the marina with its many boats and yachts as well as excellent bars, shops and restaurants. The gardens in the complex are very beautiful and exceptionally well maintained. The bathrooms both have baths, showers, wash basins and bidets. The fully fitted kitchen is equipped with a large fridge freezer, built in oven and hob, dishwasher and microwave. The utility room houses the washing machine/dryer. The large lounge has a TV and stereo as well as a DVD player and CD player. There is also a stylish dining table and chairs. French doors lead out to the South Facing spacious balcony with sun loungers and table & chairs. From here you can watch the world go by and the views are spectacular. You can also see the sun rise and set. Dual purpose air conditioning units with a heating facility have been installed so that you are comfortable in both summer and winter.

Isla Canela (The Isle of Cinnamon) is the real Spain, a place where Spanish & Portuguese people holiday. The beach which faces the apartment has 5 miles of empty white sand lapped by the Atlantic Ocean. There is a beautiful promenade which extends for most of it's length. Along here are luxury hotels which welcome non residents and the restaurants and facilities are excellent.The climate is exceptional and is perfect to enjoy Golf all year round. Isla Canela has a Golf Club in an unbeatable setting, surrounded by canals, as well as orange,olive, lemon and pomegranite trees. Just 4 Kms away over the short bridge to the mainland lies Ayamonte which has blossomed from a small village into a busy town with many restaurants serving delicious local dishes. From here you can catch the ferry which runs every 30 minutes to the Portuguese Algarge. The crossing is calm across the River Guadiana and the picturesque journey takes just 20 minutes. From here you can explore resorts of the Algarve

Notes: There is dedicated and reserved secure underground car parking space right next to the lift for the apartment. There is a good sized communal family pool as well as a baby/children's pool. Please note that these can be closed in the cooler months. There is also a new children's playground in the grounds consisting of swings, a seesaw, and slides. This is located in a shady part of the beautifully kept gardens. There is a concierge on site everyday to deal with any queries and maintenance. The complex is very secure and is not accessible by non residents, however security is not an issue on Isla Canela as there is virtually no crime. The Golf Course on Isla Canela is a 2 minute drive away. Sky TV is now available as from 3 April 2009.

Seville is an one hour drive from Isla Canela: You can fly to Seville (150 km) as an alternative to Faro and maybe enjoy a break in this most historic and Spanish City before enjoying the peace and relaxation of Isla Canela, just over 1 hours drive away. You can fly from Liverpool, Stansted and Dublin direct to Seville with a low cost budget airline who's fares start from as little as £5.00 return plus taxes. You can also fly to Jerez or Malaga. I can recommend the restaurant, Chiringuito de Antonio V, which is situated in the Marina, no more than a 2 minutes walk from the apartment. It opened in November 2005. For something different, there is an excellent Lebanese restaurant located opposite the 14th Century church right in the centre of Ayamonte. The food was delicious when I ate there in October 2006.

Free DVD: A free DVD showing Isla Canela, Ayamonte and surrounding areas will be sent to all genuine enquiries. The DVD starts with views from this apartment and also shows the lounge and dining area. The shops bars and restaurants of both Isla Canela and Ayamonte are featured as is the River Guadiana.

We have spent many a lovely holiday in Spain but we have fallen in love with Isla Canela. Our booking was dealt with by Penny in an efficient and friendly manner and I was furnished with any information I required immediately. It is also good to have so many contact numbers whilst at the apartment. The apartment is everything we hoped for and more. It was beautfully clean had everything that was needed. The terrace is a real sun trap all day and a fantastic place to watch the world go by. The gardens are immaculate and the pool was cleaned and checked continuously throughout the day. Everything you need is literally 2 mins away which means popping back is not an issue. The beach was amazing, quiet with safe water for our 6 year old to swim in. Again this was very clean with lifeguards on patrol. All the restaurants we visited were excellent and even the fussiest eaters could be catered for. The bus leaves right outside the apartment for Ayomonte and costs less than 1 Euro each way there you can visit the zoo with lions and tigers for free! The ferry to portugal also leaves from there. I can honestly recommend this holiday and look forward to returning very soon.

Fantastic Holiday Destination For All Age Groups

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at Penny’s apartment in Isla Canela. The apartment was spacious, light and comfortable. The sun terrace was ideal for my girlfriend. And she spent most mornings on this before moving on to the beach (5mins walk) or the swimming pool below. The sun obviously speaks for itself and the pool facilities were clean and well maintained. I was personally more concerned about the plethora of restaurants in the area and would recommend strongly ‘Garcias’ located a 2-minute walk from the apartment. Without naming names I would stay out of the sports bar as this was expensive and food was quite greasy.

The neighbouring town of Ayamonte offers more restaurants as well as being a beautiful Old Spanish town. We found the destination ideal for relaxation. Having stayed amidst the hustle and bustle of Lisbon (3 hour drive) we enjoyed the opportunity to wind down. For the sporting type there was a golf course 5 minutes away and water activities in the sea. It is certainly a destination that would suit young families, couples and those retired. Stay and experience a fantastic holiday destination.

Isla Canela is indeed a very special holiday destination, with miles & miles of unspoilt sandy beaches and excellent restaurants in the nearby Marina as well as in Ayamonte, which as you have pointed out is a very lovely authentic Spanish Town but it does have a Portuguese flavour, no doubt because Portugal is situated right on the other side of the river, 20 minutes by ferry boat.

having visited isla canela on many occasions and needing to be very central due to having an 81 year old mother in law with me, i booked the el faro apartment.this apartment is the width of a road away from the shops, bars and restaurants of the marina whilst still being only a few minutes walk from one of the finest beaches you will find anywhere.
the apartment itself is well furnished and has a good terrace which overlooks the sea. it has everything you would require for a comfortable holiday and is spotlessly clean. as i intend going back to isla canela in the near future i would have no hesitation in booking this apartment again.

wonderful easter holiday

This apartment is ideal for children and adults we had 4 adults and 2 children 5 and 3 never felt crowded plenty of room, It was clean and well kept in a great place on the marina very close to lovely beaches. As a family holiday home it was the best. We all would recommend it to our friends and family and would return to isla canela soom

El Faro - Isla Canela

You can't get any better than this apartment! Situated in prime spot overlooking the beach and surrounding area, where one can watch the world go by whilst having breakfast on the balcony! The apartment, building and grounds were kept in excellent condition. A fantastic place to chill and a car is definitely not essential. Supermarket and shops 2 minutes walk away. Good regular bus service to Ayamonte, on time and clean (air conditioned too!) Recommend Riu Atlantico Hotel across the road for cocktails and dinner in the restaurant! Area may be a little quiet for 18 year olds. But is most definitely very safe. Thank you for a super and much needed holiday!
