Riumar is located on the very tip of de Delta de L’Ebre Natural Park. A small residential area surrounded by a spectacular wet land, the second biggest in Spain after Doñana’s Park. The town of Riumar is very quiet. It has some small bars and restaurants (2) and a beautiful sea avenue. The beaches, 200 meters from the house, are almost solitary and made with sand dunes and autochthonous vegetation. The waters are clean and warm in summer. The house is detached and wall surrounded so your kids can play safely; big plants will preserve you and your family intimacy from the neighbour's sight when you swim, sunbath, barbecue or simply relax reading your favourite book .

Activities

Riumar is a paradise for windsurfers, in winter. In summer the wind is light and warm, ideal for relaxed sailing. Cycling around the Delta is one of my favourites activities. You and your family can spend endless hours along the paddy fields, the river, watching a huge variety wild life. You can fish in the evenings on the sea shore or rent a boat for curry fishing, either alone or with a monitor. Your own boat is welcome as there is a small sportive harbour where you can embark or disembark. Naturalist and cultural activities

If you like history and art you have Unescos’ world Heritage places such the Roman City of Tarragona (1 hour drive) and The Middle Age City of Morella, with its walls, towers, museums, narrow streets flanked by picturesque shops, etc. You can also spend a day in the thematic Park of Port Aventura, a Universal Studios Park, and just a few miles from Tarragona For walking and trekking there is another Natural Reservation Park: Els Ports de Tortosa Besseit, a complete different landscape just 1 hour drive from Riumar. And the most important, do not forget to bring your best camera with you. You can make a wonderful album of fish, monuments and cute towns. I recommend a photo “safari” throughout the Delta, especially don’t forget to visit the Poblenou town, a wonderful “colonial style” village. You can see one picture attached of the church. Night Life, Gastronomy and nearby Cities

Want to spend a crazy night? Salou is your choice. There are plenty of Discos, Pubs Bars and it is massively crowded. If you prefer a closer place to dance and indulge yourself into the night a good choice is the multi-bar area on the seside in Sant Carles de la Rapita. Plenty of music, people and fun until late at night. Sant Carles de la Rapita is also a good choice to go with your family to walk down the streets, the sea avenue, watch the fish ships returning in the evening and try the delicious local beverage called 'Orxata', a vegetal milk you can't miss. In the evening, you can enjoy some of the best sea food restaurants in Catalonia, sitting on a terrace by the harbour enjoying a fresh lobster with cava. In Tarragona City ( El Serrallo), eating an 'Arroç caldós amb LLamantol' (Rice with Lobster) is a must¡¡. Several restaurants cater this local dish. I recommend 'Cal Manolo', but there are others you can try. Reservation is recommended, 1 day in advance.
