Ski: The Sierra Nevada ski area is the most southerly in Europe, and is easily commutable from the property - just over an hour depending on the season. Snow is reliable from November to May, with plenty of clear sunny days. Nights are often very cold, and the treeless upper slopes can be affected by high winds which may result in lift closures. The ski-ing is mainly intermediate, but with good beginners slopes. Restaurants and shops are abundant in the recently modernised and expanding centre, and parking is easy directly underneath the resort itself. It is, however, advisable to avoid weekends/public holidays when 10km queues of cars up the mountain are not unusual, and the police will prevent you entering if all the car parks are full.
