This is a 4th floor apartment in the popular beach complex of Los Gavilanes. This centrally locate apartment is popular with families and has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen and large terrace. The master bedroom is en suite and has doors leading onto the terrace. The second bedroom has a separate shower/ WC. The apartment is maintained to a very high standard and has a dishwasher, washing machine, TV DVD, CD player and a range of appliances. There are also games for the children, CDs, DVDs and Sky TV. From the terrace there are stunning views towards the beach and across the river towards Portugal. Within the complex you will find a communal pool (open 1st April to 31st October) and gardens. The apartment has allocated parking in a secure compound. Restaurants are on your door and the beach only metres away. A local agent is on hand in case of emergencies. Los Gavilanes apartments are in the most sought after area of Isla Canela. Locaed a stones throw from the beach the apartments have easy access to bars and restaurants making it popular with both families and couples. As the complex is in one of the most established areas of Isla Canela the apartments do not suffer from noise or dust caused by building work, which can be a problem in other complexes. There is a hotel next door if you wish to watch a show and there is a bus stop just opposite which provides regular transport into Ayamonte town. There are many good restaurants and tapas bars offering exceptional value both at the beach and in Ayamonte town. Golfers will also be pleased that the local course is only 2 minutes away by car. The Los Gvailanes complex is really a must for anyone looking for a quiet setting yet with a central location in the very traditional Spanish resort of Isla Canela.   • We have not specified a particular changeover day to allow maximum flexibility – mid week flights are usually less expensive. A deposit of one hundred pounds per week is required to secure a booking with the balance due 8 weeks prior to the start of the holiday. accommodation can normally be held for 48hours to allow flights to be booked before you confirm the dates with a deposit.
  • Linen & Towels are included. This does not include beach towels which are not provided...Discounted prices for long term rentals(in excess of 3 weeks) are available on request. Last minute availability also attracts a good discount. Please contact us for more information. I have access to other apartments in the small complex should you wish to book with friends. contact us for further information on this.
  • Entertainment in the apartment includes a large selection of DVD movies and CD's. The apartment sleeps 5 but additional crockery/cutlery etc. should you wish to invite friends over. A lift takes visitors from the secure parking area on the ground floor to the apartment on the 4th floor. our lift only services 3 apartments on 4 floors so never gets too busy. Although accessible by wheelchair the apartment has not been specially adapted. for things to do in the area visit islacanela.magnify.net.

Notes: The apartment has secure parking and a private communal swimming pool. Included in the rental rates are all utilities, bathroom towels and linen. The apartment has UK TV Channels such as BBC, HTV, Channel 4. There is a library within the apartment which includes CDs, DVDs and books. There are also travel guide and information on the area. The apartment is within a minutes walk of bars and restaurants. There is a bus stop opposite the apartment which runs every hour into the centre of Ayamonte. Day trips can be arranged with a pick up point outside the apartment complex. If you decide to hire a car during your holiday there is a rental firm next door to the apartment block. Who we are & languages spoken: Who are we? Sarah Evans (1971), Living in the UK with Royston Chambers (1966) working flat out at the moment and use the apartment as a real zone to relax and escape the rain and pressures of work. We chose Andalucia as a place to buy a holiday home as we found the pace of life so much slower than the UK and the people are so friendly. Royston is half Spanish (his mum is from Madrid) and he loves the fact that this area still retains its Spanish charm, unlike many of the other Costas. I also fell immediately in love with the area as it really does feel like you are in the real Spain. Apart from English Royston also speaks Spanish. Our friends Erica and Marcelo live nearby is Ayamonte and can be of assistance if there should be any problems at the apartment. They also maintain the apartment and arrange the cleaning/linen changing etc. Should you need any supplies such as water, bread etc at the apartment before your arrival we can arrange for them to deliver the items for you.

Golf: The Isla Canela Golf Club, is located between the Isla Canela beach and Ayamonte. Its 18-hole, par 72 course, easy access, the area´s pleasant climate (average 20ºC), all combine to make Isla Canela the ideal destination for Golf enthusiasts. The Golf Course's close proximity to the sea and its lush vegetation make it a wonderful place for a great round of golf. In fact, it is considered to be one of the best courses in Spain. The salt-water lakes surrounding some of the holes are spectacular. The par-5 2nd, surrounded by water and deep bunkers, deserves a special mention for its beauty and level of difficulty. The Clubhouse has all the facilities necessary to make your time here as comfortable and pleasant as possible: A magnificent Restaurant, where you can enjoy typical Andalusian cuisine, a Lounge bar, a Pro shop offering everything necessary a golfer needs, a Swimming Pool, and beautiful terraces where you can relax and enjoy the countryside. And don't forget our guests qualify for a 44% reduction on the 18 hole green fee.

Other Activities: bird watching, private Spanish lessons and guided walks of the River Guadiana can be arranged.

We had a wonderful stay at Sarah's apartment. It is ideally situated at the beach end of Isla Canela and the view from the balcony is fabulous -it is now my screensaver! There are a few bars and beach bars in the area, but it is lovely and peaceful, just what we wanted. The area is also spotlessly clean.
The apartment was very well presented and had everything in it you could possibly need. Having two bathrooms was ideal for us as there were two couples in our party. The complex is secure and the gardens are well kept. We enjoyed sitting around the pool, where there were plenty sunbeds.
We enjoyed walking to the marina and spent our nights in Ayamonte where there are some lovely bars and restaurants.
Sarah gave us loads of help and advice before our holiday - thankyou Sarah.

What a lovely place

We stayed at Sarah's apartment for a week in September. This was our first booking through Holiday Rentals and we were very impressed. Sarah was very helpful and friendly right from our initial contact offering lots of advice on places to visit and restaurants to eat at. The apartment was absolutely lovely, very much a home from home and obviously well loved by Sarah and her family. A nice touch was the supply of cold beer (and other goodies) in the fridge - just what we needed on arrival. You just replace what you use at the end of your stay.

The sunsets from the balcony were amazing, we enjoyed sitting out with a book and a glass or two of wine before visiting one of the local restaurants for dinner - the Andalusian was our favourite and only 5 minutes walk away (if that). Lots of choice and very good value. The beach was but a few minutes away, very relaxing and never crowded and the sea was surprisingly warm. The mosquitoes were a bit of a nightmare, we will be better prepared next time! All in all, we were very happy with the apartment which had everything we needed.

Thanks Sarah for all your help, we hope to visit again in the future.

Our holiday was for 10 days, which wasnt long enough, we have had such a relaxing holiday here in Sarahs appartment in Isla Canela, The appartment is very clean and spacious, there is 6 of us, and we had plenty of room, a lovely view from the balcony, The pool was always spotlessly clean, never crowded, and the appartments and grounds were always kept clean, beach is only very short walk, If we can book again we will definatley be back next year. Thanks for all your help Sarah.

Just wanted to write you a review as a thank you for letting us rent your lovely apartment. Everything was as you described, the views, the location next to the beach and the attention to detail in the apartment. We really felt at home the moment we arrived...the kids soon found the infltables in the utility room and had a great time, Shame we couldnt have stayed for longer. 5/5 Thanks ever so much for all your help!!!

i would just like to thank sarah for letting me stay at her apartment last august. sarah was very honest and informative when we contacted her. everything went very smoothly and we were more than pleased with the accomodation which was far nicer than we had expected, a real home from home,plus immaculate throughout.

we will be booking again for 2008 when i have had my holidays at worked confirmed. i am so pleased you are still renting.

my tip to others is to be careful where you book. we had a short list but thankfully sarahs was our first choice and was luckily available. an avid holiday buff i did checked out the other apartments on our list when i was got there.....very nice but my suggestion would be to ask how far they are from restaurants and most importantly if there is any construction surrounding their building.

thanks again sarah. looking forward to watching the sunset again in 2008.
