The fully fitted kitchen has a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and oven with grill. The 2 spacious bedrooms have fitted wardrobes, the master bedroom having French doors leading onto balcony. It has its own private communal swimming pool, dedicated car parking space accessed by electronic gates.

The island is situated amongst breathtaking unspoilt beaches, washed by the clean Atlantic surf. The warm winter climate is due to the proximity with Africa. It has easy access to the motorway connecting Portugal to the west, and to Jerez, Seville, and Cadiz to the east. The beach stretches for seven kilometres and is beautifully clean and safe, and has just been voted one of the best beaches in Spain. Beach bars provide fresh fish and shellfish for your lunch, but if fish isn't your thing the marina restaurants can offer a change with burgers, steaks, crepes, pasta and pizza. Although the nearest town, Ayamonte, is only 10 minutes away, Isla Canela and Punta del Moral (the local fishing village) have all the required facilities if you choose to stay close to home. The Centre Commercial at the Marina has a minimart, car hire, several bars and restaurants, or you can dine at one of the beach bars. Ayamonte boasts pretty tree-lined squares surrounded by numerous restaurants and bars.

Notes: Both bedrooms have twin beds, a side table, chest of draws and built in wardrobes. The spacious main bedroom also has French doors leading on to the balcony overlooking the pool and views of the beach. The well ventilated utility room includes washing machine, clothes maiden, iron and ironing board, and opens into fully fitted kitchen with 4 ring cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster. The lounge and dining area (with breakfast bar to kitchen) has a dining table and chairs, sofa and double sofa bed, sideboard and mirror, Sky television, DVD player, radio/CD. The patio doors in the lounge lead on to the balcony, with table, chairs and barbeque, and lovely view of the beach. The apartment floor is tiled throughout. Towels and linen are provided. Property will be cleaned prior to arrival, and linen changed weekly if required. We ask that you do not smoke within the apartment, however, ashtrays are provided for use on the balcony.

Nearest Town : Isla Canela is joined to the mainland by a bridge to the town of Ayamonte (10 minutes away), which boasts 2 pretty tree-lined squares, surrounded by numerous restaurants and bars. Here you can find everything you need for your stay: a daily covered fruit, vegetable and fish market, supermarkets, individual shops, cinema, restaurants and bars. Ayamonte is set along the banks of the river Guadiana, which is the second largest inland river in Spain. Take a boat ride where you can go between two countries and enjoy a meal whilst viewing the magnificent scenery or take an adventure ride through the landscape via a 4 x 4 jeep.

Places to visit : Throughout the year the ferry across the River Guadiana, which runs between Spain and Portugal, sees a continual coming and going of travellers. Or if you prefer you can drive over the bridge to Portugal (3km away) to Villa Real de Santo Antonio for even cheaper shopping. Travel a little further along the coast and you find Tavira, the “prettiest village in Portugal”. This is an ancient town, it has a castle and nearly 40 churches, a lively harbour front, with restaurants and bars. It is home to one of the best beaches on this coast. In fact the whole of the Algarve is accessible for a day’s outing, including the Zoomarine Ocean theme park, where you can swim with the dolphins (pre booking is advisable). Seville is the capital of Andalucia, 90 minutes away. It is home to the largest cathedral in the world, and the magnificent Moorich palace, the Alcazar. A visit is a must to truly appreciate the history, culture and charm of this beautiful city.

Golf: The nearest golf course is Isla Canela, only a 5 minute drive away, an 18 hole, par 72 mature course that is relatively flat with water, has buggies, trolleys and clubs available for hire. Reduced green fees for apartment guests. There are 2 bowling greens, a swimming pool, driving range adjacent to the club house. A teaching professional is available for all levels of instruction. There are 4 other Spanish golf courses within easy driving from the apartment, including the course at Isantilla. The nearest Portuguese Gold course is at Castor Marim, about a 20 minute drive away, with full facilities and a teaching professional, with many more courses accessible in Portugal with as little as an hours drive.

We are 63 and stayed last two weeks in January 08. Although a purpose built tourist complexe the construction is of good quality. Double glazing so no condensation in winter when the heating is useful for the evenings.
The description is accurate and the place was very clean. An excellent place for visiting the region especially in the winter when the temperatures are warm.
The area is suitable for push chairs and wheel chairs the apartment block too but access to the bathroom or bedrooms would not be possible if 100% wheel chair bound.
The region is very Spanish not like the Costa del Sol region
at all. We loved it and would certainly return to the region again.

I have stayed twice at this fabulous apartment, back in 2004 and also 2008. It was amazing to see how much the resort has developed. The apartment was like a home from home, it had everything a person could want. The cleanliness was outstanding. I would recommend anybody to book.

Our Stay At This Apartment.

My name is Carol, my family and i recently stayed in this accomodation. It has everything you need in the apartment, it was like being home from home, but with better weather. It was very clean and well equipped the owners have thought of everything. Our children are only 5 and 3, and amenities needed for these were very close at hand, the beach was only across the road. There is also a little fun ground with bouncy castles little rides and go karts etc. They spent alot of time in the pool which was in the apartments ground.
We will be going back again, and i would recommend it. The place is so relaxing and clean.

Our first visit to Spain

We spent a faboulous 2 weeks here in September 2007. So much so that we have booked to go back this year. Apartment was a home from home with every amenity you could want and no dirty washing to take home!!
The resort is kept immaculately clean and the beach is miles of sand. We chose not to hire a car, instead we hired bikes and travelled on the somewhat irregular but very cheap bus service. There is also a nice variety of restaurants all within a 5 minute walk of the apartment. There is no loud nightclubs which was a big plus for us but maybe not ideal for younger people who like the noisy nightlife.
Ayamonte is a very nice town and the locals are all very friendly and the language barrier made it all the more fun. It is also very easy to get the ferry over to Portugal and spend the day in another country!!
