House has direct access to kms of beautiful sandy Atlantic beach in Andalucia, south-west Spain, with a privileged position, nestling into the protected forest and beach dunes where the presence of the chamaleon (in danger of extinction) needs to be mentioned. You may spot some within the property! It has large grounds surrounded by tall wall; 2 terraces, both shaded by grape vines. Beautiful bougainvillea blossoms all year. Private parking. No road, sand path between house and beach. Pine forest with path for walking/cycling to town (play area en route!). 5 min drive to traditional fishing town of Isla Cristina in one direction and 10 mins in opp direction to Islantilla resort with 27 hole golf course. 20min walk along sea front to Playa Central, Isla Cristina with all-year restaurants etc. Beach hut cafe 200m along beach from June to Sept. The beaches are sandy and extensive, making a stretch of 12 km long with some excellent windsurfing spots.

Notes to the rental rates

• Period from 19 - 26 February: Isla Cristina is well-known for its carnival celebrations, throughout which there are fancy-dress parties, theatre acting, parades and fireworks displays. Theatre acting take place from 19 – 26 of February and parades from 26 of February to 5 of March.
  Period from 9 - 16 April: Holy Week celebrations in Isla Cristina are spectacular, with its long processions through the streets with religious floats and sculptures which are carried along on the shoulders of the members of the brotherhoods that organise the processions. These are accompanied by nazarenos, generally wearing long hooded robes. The house is located close to the Church where processions come in and go out and some of these can be watched from its balconies.
  -Christmas Holidays: departure days would be on Monday for weeks between 18- 25 of December and 25 December - 1 of January
  Prices for full July, August or September will be considered at a lower rate
  
• Payment: 250€ per week is required upon booking, through bank transfer. Balance to be paid on arrival.
  Arrival time will be from 5 PM onwards and departure time from 12 PM onwards.
  Price includes water, gas and electricity.
  Arrival and departure must be on Saturday or Sunday. Arrival time will be from 12 am to 5 pm. Departure time will be before 12 am (specific time of arrival and departure must be agreed on between owner and guests)
  
• If you bring pets with you, a security deposit of 300 € is required, which will be refunded on departure if no damage to the house or furniture has occurred ( We don't take into account holes in the garden or smaller plants bitten).

Restarurants, cafes and supermarkets

Many restaurants in the area. Specialities are fresh sea fish, mussels, prawns, lobsters, etc and Iberian meat, ham and sausages. Not expensive to dine out. Owners favourites: 1) A beach hut cafe and restaurant at the site named Casita Azul (200 metres along beach). The friendly Manolo and his family cook and serve excellent quality lunch, dinner and coffee and the sea front is just wonderful. 2) Restaurant Cacheron and El Estudiante (Extremadura Avenue) and 3) La Gola, the las three at Isla Cristina. Try breakfast of coffee with churros (long pancake sticks) at Gran Via and other cafes in España street in Isla Cristina. Open market and supermarkets: Isla Cristina has a market with a great offer of open sea fish, meat, fresh fruit and vegetables. Well supplied supermarkets in town are Eroski, Dia, Lidl and Jamon. Furthermore, in Isla Antilla resort, Antilla town (3-5 km) there are commercial centres, golf courses, country clubs, shops, supermarkets, cinemas, restaurants.

Gastronomy and Transport

Gastronomy: The rich gastronomy of the area is mainly based on wide variety of seafood (tuna, sea bass, gilthead, mussels, prawns, lobsters, etc), which are caught daily and pork products such as Iberian meat, ham, sausages. Transport: Connected by toll-free highways with Isla Cristina, the closest international airports with car hire facilities are in Portugal Faro, in Spain Sevilla, Jerez and Malaga (Costa del Sol) at 30 min, 1 h 15 min, 2 hours and 3 h, respectively. Besides airlines, public transport includes express direct buses to/from Huelva, Seville, Madrid, etc, high velocity trains to/from Seville, Madrid, etc. HOW TO GET TO THE HOUSE: We will meet your at the main entrance of Isla Cristina’s bus station and show you to the house.

The neighbourhood

The villa is at the sea front of a quiet, lonely and safe residential area with about 10 family houses surrounded by a clean and fine beach and a beautiful landscape of pine and eucalyptus woods, all within a littoral Nature reserve with plenty of birds, some rabbits and chameleons (the only ones in Spain and maybe in Europe). Complete privacy: no door-to-door neighbour; The property is not shared with any other guests. Ideal site for families & golfers : Relax, sun, lonely beach, safe sea, bird watching, walking, cycling, fishing, wind surfing, sailing. at 1 mile from town and from golf tourist resort with cosmopolitan life. Isla Cristina is a busy port, famed for its fresh and preserved fish and one of the most important in Andalusia. Take a walk around the port when the fishing boats unload their catches, either first thing in the morning or to enjoy the sunset in the evening. The harbour side factories sell Isla Cristina's famous canned tuna and mackerel and salted fish.

Golf Information:

There are two excellent golf courses, Isla Canela and Isla Antilla (27 holes), at 1.5-10 km from the villa (please contact us for their website address). Visitors are welcome. Facilities include; Full Grass Driving Range, Putting Green, Chipping Green, Practice Bunkers, Resident Golf Professional.
