Costa de la Luz,means 'coast of light' and is named due to its almost year round sunshine of 3000 hours every year. Nuevo Portil has shopping areas close to the beach & another in the fishing village of El Rompido 5 minutes by car. El Rompido is a pretty fishing village with tapas bars good quality restaurants which are open all year round. You will be situated in the heart of Spain's largest national park, with 120 kms of unspoilt golden sandy beaches & miles of aromatic pine forests leading through the sand dunes and down to the beaches. Ayamonte town is 30 minutes drive, airports at Seville and Faro are 45 minutes drive. The beauty of the area is that there are no high rise buildings on the beaches and they retain their natural,tranquil feel.
