Our modern villa is situated on the Nuevo Portil golf course & only minutes from safe, sandy beaches. There are great views of the 11th green & fairway from both garden & roof terrace. Having 5 spacious bedrooms it can accommodate 10 comfortably. The MAIN VILLA comprises lounge & dining room with open fireplace, fitted kitchen, cloakroom, 2 twin bedded rooms, bathroom & utility room. The master suite occupies the entire 1st floor having a large double bedroom with dressing area, bathroom & private roof terrace. There are 2 further bedrooms across an enclosed courtyard in the ANNEX; one is a double, the other is twin bedded. A further bathroom completes the accommodation. There are ceiling fans & electric heaters to all bedrooms & lounge. The large enclosed garden is south-facing with a private pool, patio, barbeque, garden furniture & sun loungers. There is private shaded parking for 2 cars. The MAIN house can be rented separately for parties of upto 6 - please email for prices.

Nuevo Portil has miles of safe, sandy beaches backed by sand dunes, pine & juniper trees. Bars & restaurants are situated along the coast road and don't encroach on the areas natural beauty. A 10 minute walk to local El Portil provides shops, supermarkets, pharmacy, tapas bars, restaurants, cafes, post office, internet cafe, cash machine etc. The nature reserve of Lagunas del Portil covers some 15 hectares, the site providing hides for bird watching & appreciating the local flora & fauna. Nearby coastal towns include Ayamonte, Isla Canela, El Rompido, Isla Cristina, Punta Umbria & also the city of Huelva. Further afield is the beautiful city of Seville, the Rio Tinto Mining Park & the Donana National Park. (more information under further details) A go kart track and waterpark are nearby on the coast road to El Rompido. This typically Spanish part of Spain is an ideal destination for families, golfers & lovers of natural beauty.

  • The amounts quoted apply for full week bookings and may differ for shorter or longer durations - rates available on request.
    20% deposit required on booking - balance due 8 weeks prior to holiday.
    Also refundable damage deposit of £250/€300 is required with the balance.
    Discount available for bookings of 3 weeks or more.
    Changeover day is Saturday in high season ie. July & August, but I appreciate that sometimes flight availability makes this impossible - contact me if you have any problems with your flights & dates.

    The MAIN house can be rented for parties of 6 - email me for rates
    Long lets are welcomed with rates to be negotiated between client & owner.

OUT & ABOUT: A variety of places to explore :- take a stroll through the narrow streets of Ayamonte and find beautiful tiled plazas full of cafes, bars & seafood restaurants; or take the ferry over to Portugal and explore Vila Real de San Antonio. El Rompido is a pretty fishing village with a new marina & commercial centre by the lighthouse - from here you can access some lovely walks through the natural marshes. Take a boat trip on the Guadiana river from Isla Canela or watch local fishermen land tuna & sardines at Isla Cristina. There are the bustling resorts of Punta Umbria & Islantilla, also the city of Huelva with tourist attractions about Christopher Columbus. Further afield you can explore the beautiful city of Seville by horse drawn carriage or take a cool walk through the shaded parks; visit the Rio Tinto Mining Park which is unique or the Donana National Park which is a great natural attraction. For those with energy the go kart track is open all year and the water park from mid June-Sept

TRAVEL: FLIGHTS: This area has 2 international airports within a 70 minute drive - Faro in Portugal & Seville in Spain. Low cost airlines provide a regular service to both.

CAR HIRE/AIRPORT TRANSFERS: Cars are easily hired online, often the best deals are with the low cost airlines when you book your air tickets. Alternatively, there are plenty of car hire companies at both airports if you prefer to wait until you have arrived. If car hire is not for you there are airport transfer companies that can be booked online. Ask us for links so you can get an idea of price.

Golf: This area boasts some magnificent, fully equipped golf courses and a climate which allows the sport to be played throughout the year. Our garden overlooks the 11th fairway and green at Golf Nuevo Portil, the other local courses are Isla Canela, Islantilla, El Rompido, Costa Esuri & Bellavista. Quinta Da Ria & Castro Marim in Portugal are a 45 minute drive away.

This Villa made our holiday great!

Couldn't have had a better time: the place was spic-n-span, well groomed, with modern appliances, crisp architecture, proper amenities, and a good feeling all around. Took advantage of the pool; very refreshing. I'm not a golfer, but enjoy the golf course environment, as it runs through the entire community. Enjoyed the unusual umbrella pine trees that populate the whole area. Ample opportunity for walking through the well-developed community. The beach (20 min. on foot) is a joy: wild, sandy, with umbrella pines hugging the coast. You'll find a beautiful boardwalk near the shore. The villa property is on the north end of the community, and fronts an area of forest that offers numerous hiking or mountain biking trails. In all a perfect villa in an enjoyable community. We loved it.

Great Holiday

It is not something I would have normally booked as always a little uncertain what you are going to get
But this property lived up to all its expectations .we were a family party of 8 adults and 2 15 mth old children ,the Villa very easy to find and spotless on arrival ,
At the bottom of the garden is the 11th fairway the course is not used much so you have a very tranquil setting very peaceful
The bedrooms in the house were of good size and accommodated a travel cot comfortably,the Kitchen and facilities were very good .
The dining /lounge area was ideal and quite large so we were not on top of each other .
what we really enjoyed was the Barbecue having the 2 little ones they were in bed by 7 pm ,so we just sat outside with a beer or two and barbecued so restful and relaxing.
My Sons went to Seville about 1 hr drive and Helluva about 30 mins ,Seville was best of the 2
You can walk to the local beach about 10 Min's beautiful sand or drive in to the local town about 10 Min's to their beaches were there is a little more going off and more to do
We did not visit any of the local restaurants but the local shop keepers were very friendly and the fresh food and fruit excellent and as we spoke very little Spanish they had a translation book handy under the counter
The swimming pool was clean and cleaned regularly during our stay it was also far enough away from the house, so not easy for the little ones to crawl or walk to
Overall we had a fantastic time at this villa and I would recommend it to all

We stayed in this villa July 08 and are 2 families plus 1 set of grandparents so the annex was perfect as a quite retreat for the elders!

Nuevo Portil is a great spot in terms of accessability to exploring the region and the local beaches are really lovely and perfect to get away from the heat of the afternoon sun which can be intense by the pool in july. While it is within walking distance its a good half hour walk to the beach so we would strongly recommend a car. The area livens up at night time but is very family orientated with bias on spanish tourists so there are plenty of good local restaurants catering for all tastes nearby. Again a car would be an advantage as the walk back from the town is at least 25mins.

The villa itself is spotless and well looked after by the owners and can easily accomodate 2 families sharing a holiday together. The owners were always very responsive to our needs and queries and assisted us in recommending local restaurants. There is also a tourist folder in the living room with plenty of info on local excursions.

We would definitely recommend staying in the villa and would stay there again if we are back in this region.
