The Rhone River offers fishing opportunities and flows in to Lake Geneva, where holidaymakers can enjoy numerous watersports.

Visitors will find many interesting places to visit here during their holidays in Switzerland including historic buildings such as Stockalper Palace in Brig. The area also has a number of museums including the Ecomuseum Simplon in Brig. Guided tours of the old historic town of Brig are also available for tourists.

Zermatt is an attractive village in Oberwallis and is the best place to see the Matterhorn as well as featuring an Alpine Museum. From Brig railway station passengers can take a ride to Northern Italy, passing through the world’s longest rail tunnel on the way. A couple of hours away is the wonderful city of Geneva, which has museums, magnificent architecture and of course Lake Geneva.
