The Portes du Soleil ski domain is the largest internationally linked ski area in the world, crossing the borders of both France and Switzerland. There are also over 200km of cross country skiing trails, 9 snowparks, 3 half pipes and 4 boardercross circuits available on a Portes du Soleil lift pass, giving every level of skier and snowboarder enough world class skiing to keep them happy for a lifetime! The Portes du Soleil lifts open from the middle of December until the last week of April most years. There are many Portes du Soleil lift passes, from those only valid for a single resort to those accepted throughout the domain.

When the Portes du Soleil lifts open, there are over 1,200 ski instructors to help you develop your technique, teach your children or let you try a new style of skiing or snowboarding. However, if you feel like a break from the slopes during your stay in a Portes du Soleil chalet, there is plenty to try. Throughout the resorts of the Portes du Soleil are an incredible amount of facilities for activities as diverse as under-ice driving or snow kiting to the better known activities of snowshoeing, para-gliding, ice-skating, horse riding and hot air balloon rides.

Les Crosets is a fantastic place for snowboarders to rent a Portes du Soleil chalet. Set right in the heart of the domain, Les Crosets is a quiet resort, ideal for those wishing to get at the most fearsome terrain, and are on holiday primarily to ski or ride, not party. There is a fantastic snowboarding school and boardercross park here which helps with its reputation as a top snowboarding destination.

Torgon lies right on the border with France, with a real mix of skiing terrain. The pistes are mainly aimed at beginners and intermediates, although the backcountry is quite excellent. There are also a huge range of cross country trails, a world class restaurant and some great little bars to enjoy in the evenings.

Morgins boasts some incredible activity options throughout the year. The skiing is exemplary, and when the Portes du Soleil lifts open for the last time in a season, Morgins’ walking, white water rafting, rock climbing and para-sailing credentials become clear.

Cheap flights to Portes du Soleil, Switzerland

Although there are three main airports within a short distance of a Portes du Soleil chalet, flights to Geneva (GVA) are the most convenient for reaching your final destination. There is a wealth of airport transfers to choose form in Geneva Airport.
