The Chateau d’Oex is a great little Alpine skiing resort, but it has a difference from most resorts; it has a real small town atmosphere, not one of a ski resort. It has a range of important museums and excellent restaurants within it bounds and many activity centres, including a hot air balloon centre, indoor riding school and a mountaineering and paragliding school.
Leysin is a charming mountain village in the Vaud Alps, which is home to five international ski schools and plenty of great venues for live music.

There are two distinct seasons in the Alps of Vaud. Summers are blissfully hot, averaging around 23˚C, but temperatures drop with altitude. Winters are much harsher, but of course, that is great for the skiing conditions!

Geneva Airport (GVA) is located on the Swiss side of the border, just within the Vaud canton. Transfer from Geneva Airport to the Alpine region does not take long, and there are many options available.
