The modern 12 seat gondola that operates from the resort whisks skiers high into the mountains in minutes, taking you right into the heart of the resort, where a further selection of lifts takes you to the start of some 175km of pistes, ranging from the gentle learner slopes to the head of one of the five fearsome black runs within Haute-Nendaz. There are also 25km of cross country skiing trails and two snow parks within Haute-Nendaz, not to mention the further facilities of the 4 Valleys domain, which is easily accessible from accommodation in Haute-Nendaz, and accessible on a single pass. The off-piste in the 4 Valleys is simply excellent, which will no doubt be common knowledge among the back country skiing fans amongst you.

The far slopes of the Nendaz Mountain are covered in amazing, ancient larch trees, dating back over 1,000 years. The trees tower into the skies, and regardless of how long you are staying in a Haute-Nendaz chalet, are well worth finding. Walking through the larch woods in summer and skiing between them in winter is a very humbling felling. In fact, the whole are is a delight for walkers in the summer, with countless miles of walking, hiking and mountaineering trails crossing the slopes, plateaus and peaks of Valais.

Summer is a fantastic time to be staying in a Haute-Nendaz property rental. The sports centre, which contains tennis courts, climbing walls, squash courts, football pitches and swimming pools provides a huge amount of activity, and there are over 250km of summer walking trails to try (90km of which are open during the winter). The surrounding mountains are packed with mountain biking trails too.

The town of Nandez is an ideal base from which to ski the 4 Valley in winter and explore the mountains in summer. The town is a delightful mountain town, filled with all the shops, supermarkets and facilities you might need, as well as being home to over 30 restaurants, many of which are nestled among the gorges and spurs of the mountains, 10 bars and a handful of lively nightclubs.

Winter in Haute-Nendaz is obviously quite cold. Temperatures from the beginning of the ski season (mid-December) until mid-February remain hovering around 0˚C. However, during summer, warm days are almost guaranteed, with average daily temperatures regularly breaking the 20˚C mark in July.

Haute-Nendaz benefits hugely from its ease of access to Geneva Airport (GVA). Located just 90 minutes away by car, and well connected by train, Haute-Nendaz accommodation is some of the most easily accessible of all the Swiss ski resorts.
