Summer in Lauterbrunnen

We have just returned from a week at this lovely apartment in August 2010.
The apartment is every bit as as clean and luxurious as shown on the website. The kitchen is very well equipped including such incidentals as washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets.
The apartment is spacious and easily accomodated our family of 4.
Sitting on the balcony is so relaxing, even if it is raining ! The clouds can often seem like they are level with the apartment as they cling to the valley sides. We were lucky to get 5 decent days of weather in a total of 11 nights in different parts of Switzerland.
One earlier comment mentions the bar across the road which didn't cause us problem. Lots of walking, lots of fresh air and we were asleep as soon as our heads touched the pillows !
Recommended activities which we managed in the Lauterbrunnen/Grindelwald area include trips to Jungfraujoch and Schynigge Platte (including a 4-5 mile walk), walks from First to Bachalpsee & Grosse Scheidegg (6-7 miles), from Lauterbrunnen to Interlaken via Bonigen (10-12 miles), from Kleine Scheidegg to Wengen including part of the Lauberhorn ski-run (4-5 miles) and from Murren to Grotschalp (3 miles).
Isabel was very helpful and the small gift at the end of the holiday was a nice surprise.
Many thanks for the stay in Switzerland - our 4th time and probably not our last !
