Winter Resort details:
The Jungfrau Skipass covers both sides of the valley and also the Grindelwald ski lifts. Under the towering mountains of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau there are 125 miles of ski runs suitable for beginners to advanced skiers. Some slopes extend to 7 miles. There is a choice of 45 mountain railways, cablecars and skilifts. Also 60 miles of well-prepared hiking paths. There is a special pass for non-skiers.
Summer details:
Lauterbrunnen is an excellent starting point for trips to the Jungfraujoch (the highest railway and restaurant in Europe) and Schilthorn. There are also many miles of well signposted hiking trails. It is 8 miles from Interlaken, the town between the lakes of Brienz and Thun. There is a swimming-pool, tennis courts and mini-golf in the village. There are organised tours to the mountain huts on the Alp to see how they make cheese. The village has local lace-makeing and a Pottery.
A James Bond breakfast is served on the top of the Schilthorn made famous by the film 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'.
The chalet is 8 miles from the newly opened 'Mystery Park' in Interlaken. This is a theme park to suit all ages.
General Information:
Lauterbrunnen is also easily reached by train from Zürich and Geneva airports. There are special Swiss rail concessions that can be bought in your own country. The rail service is excellent and a car is not really necessary.
Most restaurants in the village serve local Swiss food (also international food). Night-life is available in Wengen and Interlaken. In summer there are local concerts of Yodeling, local brass band, traditional dancing, flag-throwing and Alpenhorn.

There are 45 mountain railways, cable-cars, and ski-lifts under the peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains. There are 125 miles of excellent ski-pistes for skiers and snow-boarders of all catergories with ski-schools. The highest piste starts at 9748 feet and the longest run is 7 miles.
