This is a relatively new apartment (built in 2006) situated in the lovely hamlet of Les Crosets, just above Champery. It is a very easy drive from Geneva. The apartment is one of several in a newly developed aparthotel. It is light, modern and attractive with extensive use of modern pine and with spectacular views of the Les Dents du Midi from all rooms. In winter the apartment offers ski in and ski out. Les Crosets boasts a multitude of lifts, ski school a dedicated snowboard park and a small number of nice restaurants and bars. You can ski into France in minutes or stay in the Swiss area. In summer there is extensive walking and mountain biking with Lake Geneva a 30 minute drive away. The apartment is well furnished with TV and Stereo and Wi fi. It has wood floors and ceilings and whitewashed walls. There are three large windows looking out over the hill to the mountains and there is nothing to spoil the view. There is a balcony running the full length of the apartment.

Les Crosets is a small, quiet village at the very top of the mountain at a height of about 1800m.It is just in the Swiss side. It is situated above Champery. It boasts a fantastic array of ski lifts and normally you can ski in and out of the apartment. The nearest lift is about 50 yards away across the road (be advised we have had a report that this lift is currently not working and this would potentially mean a 5-10 min walk to main lifts.) The road ends in Les Crosets so it is not troubled by passing traffic. There are a small number of restaurants and bars anda small supermarket. It is very pretty and has a lovely location situated with mountains all around. You can drive to Champery which is a lively and attractive town or down to the main town (Monthey) at the bottom of the mountain. It takes about 20 minutes. Lake Geneva is about 30 minutes away and you can drive along the lake which is absolutely stunning. Visit towns like Vevey and Montreu

  • The bathrooms are a good size, modern and smart with pine and white tiling. One has bath plus shower, the other two have walk in showers. The third bathroom is off the entrance corridor and is used by those sleeping on the sofa bed.

I have stayed here twice now on skiing holidays. On each occasion I have been delighted with the apartment and the facilities afforded in the building and village. This is a lovely quiet resort linking in to an extensive and varied ski area. The apartment is well situated, modern, comfortable and has delightful views from its long balcony and principal rooms. The standard of repair and cleanliness was excellent and I would certainly recommend this property to friends.

Great place

We have stayed in this apartment twice now and had a wonderful break each time. It's clean, modern, quiet (apart from the annual New Years Eve party we heard once), has lovely views, has a bar upstairs (no outdoor clothes required) with good food and a some activities. The walk up to Chez Nellie's restaurant on a crisp clear night with flakes of snow coming down is magical. That place is so cozy & welcoming. The whole village is quiet, no night clubs or stag parties! We really liked the fact that the apartment isn't cluttered with soft furnishings but is still comfy.

Great place to stay

This was our second time in this appartment; and we've allready booked for our third stay. That in itself is probably the best recommendation we can give. In the past 25 years or so we've seen at least 30 different ski-areas all over the alpes and the same number of appartments or houses. This complex is definately in our top 5! Combined with the vast Les Portes du Soleil skiing area it makes it our 'ski-valhalla'. The sunny living room with the magnificent view of Les Dents du Midi is still on my mind when I close my eyes. The whole appartment is nice and luxurious and the sheets and towels are clean and of great quality; quite the same as you might expect at home.
Outside, the nearest ski-lift is being rebuilt/modernised. To compensate that loss the local authorities had built a new lift which gave us an even better connection to Les Crosets in about 5 minutes (and all over the vast area of Les Portes du Soleil of you choose so). And the good news to us was that this new lift is easy enough for our kids to be able to join us in skiing in and out of the appartment! In the village you'll find a few shops with very friendly people running them and a nice bar in the building of Sundance. Still, we didn't get the feeling we'd miss anything by spending our late-afternoons at the appartment because there are no 'austrian-type-apres-ski-party's'. And if you feel like one of those lovely french restaurants, you'll have to ski out of the appartment, take a few lifts and slopes...and ski right into a great place on the other side of the border. If the amount of snow next year is as enormous as it was this year, we'll certainly have a great time again. Combine that with 6 days of sunshine (out of 7) and with this great appartment and you might imagine why we find Les Crosets and this specific appartment complex our 'ski-valhalla'.

Very nice apartment in ski village Les Crosets

We have known Les Portes du Soleil for some time and had been to Les Gets and on the swiss side to Torgon but the return tracks there were a bit too icy for us so we decided to go for the Champery side and Les Crosets seemed like a small village.
And it was what we were looking for.
We enjoyed stopping at lunch for a croute in the Swiss farms, and not in the noisy French cafeterias. And in the evening we went to the old restaurant Chez Nelly.
We are a family of five with children aged 17, 14, 12.
The apartment was of swiss quality standard, so 2 real bedrooms, both ensuite and with a very nice view on Les Dents du Midi, a large open space , living, dining and kitchen area, with the view as well , everything was new and spotless, and another real plus : 3 bathrooms , so no jams in the morning.
The children also loved the big flat screen tv set.
The ski lift was just on the other side of the building .
Also the apartment is on the right side of the building ( not on the road side ) , and not directly overlooking the parking area. So it is probably one of the better ones in this building.
So it had been a very relaxing week.

Disappointing

Les Crosets is a lovely village and has great skiing but we believe there are certainly better places to rent than this apartment.
The house sits at the lowest spot of the village right along main street which can be very busy. „Ski in/ ski out“ is an excessive promise: The nearest lift is off operation and even off the facility list/ area map of Telechampery.ch. You have to walk quite a bit to the other upper end of Les Crosets. The slopes to the house are not really maintained.
The apartment has a great view to Dents du Midi but is in the shadows already early in the afternoon. The fitting and Swiss quality of the apartment is basic but nice, however the furniture is just ordinary IKEA stuff – no „luxury“ touch as claimed. Unfortunately the wide and long aisle of the apartment has at least the size of the living room and uses up a lot of those 93 sqm which is not really useful. There is a lot of storage space. The kitchen is well laid out and well equipped. When you claim to be 4 star we would expect to find a fondue or raclette set for at least a bit of swiss rather than swedish feeling. It’s standard in high class swiss apartments but not yet in this one.
Beware: At least in peak season the restaurant/ bar can be a real annoyance as they have partys and life acts until 2am every other day. It’s only two floors directly above the apartment which makes you part of the party whether you like it or not.
Very unusual for Switzerland: Some parts of this „new“ house are still unfinished, remaining in the state of 2005: The so called „parking“ is a makeshift gravel terrasse below the house, the basement with the garage and the staircase still is a construction site and the ski room is equipped with makeshift shelves. The sauna for which you need to pay just provides a leftover mix of small hand towels.
Are the owners supportive? They didn’t show much interest in my issues, made me look fussy with replies such as: „ski in/ ski out“ is okay because this lift used to operate, a bit of walking with the skis and night partying must be acceptable. I really got the impression that for them this is simply an investment.
Leaving this aside, the bottom line remains: Comparing this apartment to many other Swiss holiday places that we rented before (with no complaints), we felt that neither location nor apartment are 4 stars. The description partially doesn’t fit and price/ value is not appropriate.
Owner's Response: This is the first and only negative review or feedback we have received in three years of owning this apartment.We have actually had clients coming back for three years. Sadly this review is the net result of some correspondence over the past weeks aimed at getting us to pay a refund.
During the time of the reviewers visit (New Year) the lift opposite the apartment was in the process of being refurbished with a newer lift. In point of fact an additional lift has since been opened which provides even faster access to main ski area.The apartement is very much ski in/ski out.
The apartment is decorated with white walls and pine cielings. The furniture which was bought new from Ikea is oak.
The restaurant/bar is two floors above the apartment. It was, perhaps understandably, busier at New Year but it is normally extremely quiet.
Both the location at the entrance to this small village, which takes only10 mins to walk from either end (the main street is in fact a cul de sac) and the apartment are lovely.
There are 14 other apartments in the building, all very similar, with the same spectacular views of Les Dents du Midi and to our knowledge all of the reviews for these properties have been very positive.
