Chalet Argousier; In Verbier is an ideal location for the perfect self catering ski holiday. As you will need easy access to the ski slopes, supermarkets, shops, and the Place Central for Verbiers super après ski and fine restaurants, Chalet Argousier has all this! The bus stop is outside the rear of the apartment up a small slope. The Chalet is located on Chemin de la Croix which is between Ru de Centre Sportif and Route de Verbier Station. So just opposite (Route de Verbier Station) is the commercial centre with all the shops and supermarkets you will need, also just behind on (Ru de Centre Sportif) is more shops, which include a Ski hire shop, a CO-OP, The Wonder bar, etc, also located here is the Les Schtroumpfs day nursery. And of course if you need a swim in the heated indoor pool or a Turkish/sauna the sports centre is opposite. The place Central is just a gentle 6/7 minute walk, (no steep hills to walk up)!

Near by: There are restaurants and plenty of shops very near by, for example there are 2 restaurants within 100 meters, as well as 3 super markets, so you won’t get tired arms carrying back all your shopping or have to go far if you run out of milk! You can even hop in the car and drive straight into the commercial centre car park, opposite. But you don’t really need a car here at all. The Place Central is a gentle 6/7 minute walk, so it’s very easy to get home after your après ski and save your tired legs for the slopes in the morning! If you fancy a nice swim the sports centre is close enough to walk across in your swimming costume 50 meters and includes a heated Indoor pool (12 x 25 m), play area for children, sauna, Turkish bath, solarium, tennis, squash, indoor ice rink (30 x 60 m), & climbing wall

Apartment: The kitchen has the very best and new cook ware, crockery, glasses and utensils along with new appliances which include; electric kettle, food processor, electric juicer, microwave oven, induction hob and state of the art cooker, George Forman grill, cafeteria, toaster and a water purifier. The kitchen units are solid wood with Granite splash backs and work tops. The apartment is our second home and therefore very well equipped and furnished to a very high standard. We have created a relaxing, warm environment with soft lighting; the lounge has comfortable leather sofas, and traditional Swiss open fire place, oak floors and ceiling beams.

A large private terrace all around the apartment if you need to absorb the view or fancy some mountain air or a glance up at the stars. All the mattresses are all of a high quality and sprung, and there are two hair dryers in the bedrooms also the double bedroom is a flat screen wall mounted TV. There is a wall mounted flat screen TV with an integrated DVD player in the lounge, with over 50 Satellite TV channels which include all the main English channels + local channels. Wi-Fi Internet access. The Lounge & kitchen has a total 5 French doors to allow panoramic views of the Grand and Petit Combine mountain range and access to the terrace. The bedroom furniture is rustic hand made Swiss style solid wood. There is a private ski room downstairs (1 flight) or take the lift, a travel cot is kept in our ski room, however you will need to bring your own bedding for the Travel cot. Floor area includes 1/3 of outside terrace.

Ski: The apartment position is excellent as is the skiing, just come out the apartment door and turn right up a small slope and you are on the ski bus stop where the service is frequent! The Medran lift is just four stops away or you can go on up to Savoleyres or the beginners slope of Les Esserts. We quite often use a ski locker at Medran (heated) and hop on the bus without our boots and skis. Lockers are only 5 CHF per day and can accommodate 3 to 4 peoples ski’s & boots, and we have always managed to acquire one. This means once we have finished a days skiing we can have a gentle stroll down Rue du Medran and enjoy the plentiful après ski bars and delightful restaurants and then collect our skis & boots from the locker in the morning and ski off for another perfect day of skiing! Also a 3 to 4 minute walk from the apartment if you have very young ones; is the Les Schtroumpfs day nursery (next to the Moulin lift) open daily from 8.30am to 5.30pm, they take children from 3 months.

We had a great week in Chalet Argousier -- it was very comfortable, well equipped, clean and in an ideal location. With four children, being so close to the ski bus stop, nursery slopes, and the local shops made a huge difference for us. As the weather was sunny during our stay, we made daily use of the terrace -- despite the fact that it virtually "sits" on the parking lot, there were so few cars around that we felt relatively private. The owners were very responsive and helpful, clearly showing an interest in making our stay as pleasant as possible. We would definitely recommend this apartment and certainly plan to return next year.

Being a family ourselves we have made the apartment very comfortable and practable for both children and adults. We like the location very much as their is no need for a car due to everything being on the door step!
Hopefully when you return next winter the pine trees would have grow enough to hide the car park, but it does allow extensive views of the mountains?

Real Gem

Great location next to the bus stop & near the Centre, not many like this, a real gem?

After a tiring but great day on the slopes it was a pleasure to return to this very comfortable and very well equipped apartment, we settled the children down and enjoyed many relaxing evenings by the fire! We found the apartment had plenty of living space for our 2 families 6 of us, (kids loved the giant bunk beds & DVD’s in their room) some one had obviously invested well in the furniture etc.

And wow the wet room was a real treat after a hard days skiing..

The view from the terrace was stunning, with a few cold beers we sat out in the sun the perfect way to finish off the day, we will be back!

FANTASTIC APARTMENT!

Drove to Verbier in April for our childrens first ski hol as well as Granny and Grandad and Auntie!! Apartment is immaculate, well equipped, beautifully decorated with fantastic views. There were 5 adults and 2 children and we all felt very comfortable a real home from home, (it was very useful having 2 bathrooms for getting ready in the morning!) It was great after a days skiing to come home and put the fire on and relax, it is just outside the centre so lovely and peaceful. Unlike the previous review I would have to disagree with the comments, there was 7 of us and it was not cramped, the apartment views are so amazing. You don't need shutters to maintain privacy as there is voile on the windows and we had these open most of the time to take in the views. We used the terrace all the time and if the previous occupants looked properly they would realise that the terrace is NOT shared and the door they refer to is actually a window! When we arrived at the apartment there was a lovely welcome pack from the owners Richard and Louise which was a lovely touch. Also thank you for all your tips and advice regarding Verbier which was very helpful. The supermarket and sport centre was just across the road. The parking lot was handy as we had 2 cars with us and could see the vehicles all the time. Finally the neighbour upstairs is very friendly and helped us out one morning when we ran out of milk. We will definately be returning again next year and if this apartment is free we will most certainly wish to book again.

A brilliant base for a fabulous week of skiing.

Our party of 8, 4 adults and 4 children really enjoyed our ski holiday in apt 101. All amenities to a great standard. Fabulous views outside on the terrace. We loved the heated floors in the bathroom. The added bonus is the bus stop right outside the rear of the property leaving every 15 minutes. Will be booking again next year.

Cramped and smaller than advertised.

This is a nice, well fitted out apartment in a good location near the centre of Verbier. However beware as the "floor area" quoted of 103 square metres includes wall thicknesses and the terrace. The real usable floor area in the apartment is some 70 square metres. Even for six people it is cramped - for 8 it would be amazing!!
As the apartment faces out on the ground floor to a parking lot you need to keep the shutters or curtains drawn to maintain privacy and the terrace is not really usable as such. So there is not much view or space to sit in the sun. It is also directly overlooked by the next door neighbour's kitchen window and their door opens onto it so it may even be shared!
The advertised wi-fi is shared by the other apartments and is slow with a weak and unreliable signal.
All in all an OK base for skiing Verbier but it is small for the price and the lack of any real usable outside area is disappointing.
