Alpine chalet in traditional Val d'Herens mountain village
Modern 3 bedroom chalet, set in own grounds, on the outskirts of a quiet village c 1300 m. Comfortable and well equipped. Suitable for skiing, walking or lazy holidays. Magnificent views across the Rhone valley. Off-road parking. Comfortable for up to 7 persons. The village, is small but has all essential facilities. Nearest large town is Sion. In the heart of the most unspoilt and mountainous area of Swiss Romande. (French speaking). A paradise for both winter and summer outdoor activities. The Val d'Herens is a very undeveloped valley with few regulations, unlike some areas. Folk peasant costume is still occasionally worn and there is a local dialect of French (Patois). EXtensive information available concerning hiking routes for all standards.

The chalet is about 400 metres from the centre of a very quiet mountain village. It is handy for the regional capital of Sion and the remote mountains of the Valasian Alps.

Chalet Mazel accomodation
The chalet has a large lounge with windows on 3 sides and a log fire. Separate well-equipped kitchen. Balcony, front and rear patios with garden furniture. The balcony has uninterrupted view along and across the Rhone valley for up to 30 miles to the East, North & West. The chalet is modern and very well equipped. It is close carpeted throughout apart from the kitchen and bathroom. Chalet Mazel is located in its own grounds on the outskirts of the village. Ideal for family holidays.
Nax, Val d'Herens Winter
The village has its own quiet & cheap ski system untouched by package tours. The lift pass can be extended to cover the Hérens area and / or Verbier. The area has excellent piste skiing facilities and is also renowned for ski mountaineering. The area is also good for winter hiking and snowshoe expeditions. Winter climbing of all grades is available locally. There are also facilities for outdoor ice-skating if conditions permit. Ideal for family holidays. Nax has a pool. There is a leisure area on the village outskirts which has picnic facilities, tennis courts, swin golf etc. in a very picturesque setting.
Nax, Val d'Herens Summer
Walking starts right at the chalet door and has something for all tastes and standards. Val d'Hérens is a renowned centre for climbing of all grades. There is also a 200m high Via Ferrata on Nax cliff. Magnificent flora and fauna abound including the protected Réchy valley. The village is small but has all essentials. Skiing Information:
The Nax skiing system is mainly used by local residents and chalet owners. No package tours visit Nax and there are no large hotels. Therefore there are rarely any queues. The lift pass can be extended to cover the other resorts in the Val d'Herens which are essentially similar. Snow is normally good. There is a ski school in the village and a learner system very close to the chalet.
