Chalet Morrow
Chalet Morrow is a wonderful and well-equipped Chalet set in Le Leveron within the Swiss Alps, 30mins drive from Verbiers’ town centre. It truly is an excellent base for all types of holiday, whether you want a sporting adventure or an idyllic tranquil get away.
The chalet is ideal for six people, although there is extra sofa bed and an extra mattress under the bunk bed if you want to squeeze a few more people in. We had a party of six and found the chalet more than capable to offer comfortable accommodation. On two levels, the chalet is exactly as described. We found the chalet clean and well maintained, the was kitchen extremely well catered for, having more utensils, cutlery, plates and pans than you’ll probably need.
Ski-ing is an obvious choice for booking the chalet, however, there are a multitude of sporting activities available within the area, many of which are all year round, information can be found within the welcome guide provided and within leaflets and booklets previous occupants have left behind for users to use. For those who just wish to relax, Le Leveron is a very peaceful village (Not ideal for the party animal), the air is clean and fresh and views are fantastic. If you are prepared to travel, a trip to Leukerbad is a must, where you can relax in hot thermal swimming pools all year round and is approximately 90mins away. The locals are friendly and the lady employed to look after the chalet is very welcoming and helpful, popping round a few times to ensure that we had everything we needed and if she could be of any help. Likewise, the owner gave us comprehensive information prior to our arrival.
There are some down sides to the area though, the people around this area of the Swiss Alps speak very little English so brush up on your French before you come, however, we managed to get by even though the last time we spoke French was at school. The area is also quite expensive, especially Verbier, but if you are a little savvy, look further a field towards more populated towns, the prices do come down. We also found that the chalet could possibly benefit from a TV/DVD combi.
In all, the chalet is a perfect get away in the most pleasant of settings and the area has a wealth activities to suit all, no matter what the season. We had a superb time and the chalet suited our needs very much, and should we return to this wonderful part of the world, Chalet Morrow would be our first choice for somewhere to stay.
