This newly converted apartment overlooks the small alpine town of Chateau d’Oex in the Sarine Valley. As well as three comfortable bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious salon and well equipped kitchen area there is a south facing balcony along the side of the salon and the master bedroom and a huge and stunning terrace open on three sides which attracts the sunshine throughout the day and looks onto a wonderful mountain panorama. Additional information about rental rates

  • Easter, Balloon and Christmas week - check with owner for enhanced rates. Our prices include use of all facilities, bed linen and towels. There is a basic laundry fee of 35 Swiss francs Swiss per person and a cleaning charge of 250 Swiss francs to be added to the rental total which should be paid directly to the Banque Cantonal Vaudois. 25% deposit required at the time of booking and remainder payable three weeks prior to arrival. There is a telephone in the apartment which may be used by arrangement. There is usually a supply of basic herbs and spices and other staples, tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pasta, jams etc. Do please feel free to use them and just replace as required.
  • They are in fact 2640chf per week except for Christmas and New Year which is 2940chf and Balloon week which is usually ten days, not a week, so we work out a price to fit the requirement.
    There is also an underdround secure parking space available for 100chf prt week.

Notes: The twin beds in the second room can turn into a decent double bed whilst the third room has two single beds. The building has a lift, and the lower ground floor laundry has washing machines and tumble dryers. The swimming pool has changing facilities, shower, hairdryer and toilets. The building also has a large ground floor seating area with library and card tables. A bar is available, just write down what you drink in the honesty book and pay the house managers for it. Remember it is a bar and not an off licence so buy your bottles in the village and just use this for social drinking.. There is also a downstairs ski room and bike store. Guests will be provided with standard house rules.

Chateau D'Oex : Is a thriving town with an excellent supermarket and traditional food shops. There is a wide selection of restaurants and cafes, together with car hire, sports equipment rental, video rental and daily international newspapers. There are banks, a tourist office, cinema and museum. All denominational churches including Anglican. Year-round concerts, recitals and traditional alpine events. The world-renowned Swiss rail service gives easy access throughout Switzerland and Europe. Pick-up facilities for guests are available from the station and Geneva airport.

Summer Activities : Walking along well-marked routes and mountain access via cable cars, skiing at famed Diableret glacier, fishing, white-water rafting and canoeing, mountain biking, cycling, swimming (public outdoor pool), tennis, tenpin bowling, golf (Villars and Gstaad GCs, the latter is an enchanting alpine course with a simple restaurant serving local dishes. Well worth a visit for camp follower and hangers on), mini-golf, horse riding, archery, via ferrata, hot-air ballooning. Gstaad Swiss Tennis Open (July), Menuhin-Music festival, Montreux Jazz Festival etc. High mountain cheese making.

Winter Activities : Downhill and cross-country skiing, ice-skating, curling, tenpin bowling, tobogganing, snow-shoeing, winter Wonderweg walks, hot -air ballooning. Farm visits and sleigh rides. Concerts and Recitals - Check with tourist office for regular information sheets.

Ski: Chateau D'Oex lies within the White Highlands Super Ski Region, which has 250km pistes and 66 lifts in six areas. Suitable for all standards - two-hour, four-hour, daily or weekly ski tickets available. Excellent instruction, nursery and snow park in Chateau D'Oex for children. Ski bus from outside apartment links with La Braye cable car (departs from centre of village) and station (linking to all areas).

Golf: The Gstaad Golf Club at Saanen Moser, a charming Alpine course, welcomes non-members. It also has clubs for hire. There are other golf courses at Villars and nearby Gruyere.

Other Activities: concerts, museums, restaurants, shopping and watching the glitterati in Gstaad

IF YOU WANT TO TREAT YOURSELVES - LOOK NO FURTHER

Just spent a week at this beautiful apartment (april), absolute bliss. The appartment itself is beautifully decorated with everything that you could ever wish for. As soon as you enter the accommodation you feel completely relaxed - quite extraordinairy. There is no need to leave the village of Chateau D'oex as everything is there and it's so enchanting. Beautiful walks from behind and infront of the apartment take you up to the top of snow capped mountains looking down onto green meadows filled with wild flowers. Return to the apartment for a siesta (think you need it after all the walking) and listen to the local church bells ringing halting everyone for lunch. We spent a week and were so refreshed, looking forward to returning. Can't rate this apartment more highly. Thank you for letting us share the experience!

Perfect Retreat

Not only is this a stunning apartment in a most beautiful valley, but it is also perfectly placed for wonderful day trips to Montreaux, Gruyere, Gstaad etc.by car or on the excellent trains, particularly the glass roof ones!
Even though i am not a skier i enjoy the many beautiful walks and Chateau d'oex village is within easy walking distance.
I have been here Summer and Winter and whatever the weather the huge terrace at this apartment never ceases to provide the most spectacular panaramic views of the valley and such a peaceful oasis to relax, sometimes it is hard not to spend one's entire holiday on this terrace and in the excellent swimming pool with views of snow capped mountains and occasionally a serene hot air balloon drifting by.......ahhh the peace of it all. It is a very magical place. You will truely unwind and de-stress here.
On a practical level the apartment is very clean and well equiped, has great bed linen and towels and is a joy having two bathrooms if there is more than two staying. It is also decorated to a high standard, lovely furniture and soft furnishings.
I must also mention Switzerlands best kept secret....their wines are amazing do try at every opportunity.

We had a week in this lovely apartment with fantastic views of the snow topped mountains. It has been decorated to a high standard and all the rooms are beautifully furnished. Everything you need is in this apartment, even a terrace for your evening meals and drinks.
It was very useful having an en-suite off the main bedroom especially if there are six people staying.
Chateaux d'oex is a delightful small town with everything you will need. In the winter it is stunning for ski-ing and in the summer lovely for sightseeing A really lovely apartment, will definately be booking again.

Family holiday in Residence Rosat

We stayed in this apartment for the school half term week in February and had a wonderful holiday. The apartment is very attractively designed and has everything which is needed for a relaxing stay. It was warm and clean with new bedding and towels - a really nice fresh feel to the place. Having the en suite off the bedroom and the other rooms at the back of the apartment was especially useful as it meant that we could put our two boys, aged 4 and 7, to bed and then enjoy an evening without disturbing them.
The outside area is fantastic - safe for the boys and a great run around area for them. And of course the pool was a wonderful facility for the time between skiing end and evening meal.
The couple who met us and manage the apartment were really helpful and welcoming. Definitely worth recommending and a return visit!

This alpine apartment is beautifully decorated and welcoming, comfortable and charming. It was warm with sensational views and outlooks and just perfect for a truly relaxing holiday. We could swim and sauna every day, looking out on to crisp, deep, freshly fallen snow and enjoy the peace and quiet of the surrounding area which is on the fringe of the village yet so near the necessary amenities. I am just trying to sort out dates for our next visit, because not only is the winter a stunning experience, the summer is magical too. This apartment boasts a huge roof terrace on which to dine, sunbathe and take the air. A truly wonderful location.
