Khao Soi Dao waterfall & wildlife sanctuary:
Khao Soi Dao Wildlife Sanctuary and Khao Khitchakut National Park, are respectively 745sq km and 59sq km but together protect the last area of montane and submontane evergreen forest in the East, with granite hills rising to over 1,000m. Khao Soi Dao is a source of many streams and waterfalls such as Nam Tok Khao Soi Dao. This 16 level waterfall is very beautiful and suitable for relaxing.
It is also an important bird watching site for Indochinese montane birds. There are over 50 confirmed bird species, including blue rumped pitta; mountain fulvetta; a darker, local species of silver pheasant; Asian fairy-bluebird; short tailed or eastern green magpie; and chestnut headed partridge. Khao Soi Dao also protects the largest population, maybe 1,000 pairs, of pileated gibbon.
