Phuket Villa 'Bann Jai Dee'

We had an excellent holiday here over Easter 2012.
It’s always a pleasure to step off the plane and be greeted by a driver for transfer to the house, and this had been organized by Joy, for us. On arrival at the house we were all astounded by the gorgeous gardens, and the house was all that was described on the website and more. The house is kept spotless and Joy came in to clean and tidy daily. The towels were changed daily and even the bed linen seemed to be changed every few days.

The garden has been thoughtfully planted and offers plenty of shade and sunshine. There were numerous butterflies and birds as well as cicadas and frogs etc to occupy our attention, and the frangipani gives off a beautiful scent.

Nai Yang and Nai Thon are really lovely, and unlike the southern coast of Phuket are much less busy and commercialized. There was plenty to do however and I would highly recommend the massage under the sala next to Erica and Khaow’s bar at Nai Yang. It only cost the equivalent of £6.00 for a full body massages, and we all enjoyed being pampered several times. Food and drinks in the beach bars are also inexpensive and were able to get a generous meal for 4 plus drinks for under 1000 BHT (less than £20.00). Also Check out the Cottage Garden, a higher end restaurant serving delicious Thai and European food.

I would certainly recommend a hire car, and again this was organized for us, by Joy. It was very inexpensive but enabled us to get around with ease. We all enjoyed many activities such as elephant trekking at Baeng Phae, and a visit to the waterfall and gibbon centre there. The ATVs on the Thalang Road were also huge fun. There are many temples around, including one at the turn to the Nai Yang beach which was stunning.

For self catering there are plenty of small shops within five minutes, and a drive of about 10 minutes will take you to a very large Tesco and shopping complex. The market at Nai Yang was also a fabulous place to buy all sorts of local foods and clothing.

Finally I would like to say how helpful Jackie was while I was booking the holiday, answering all my queries and helping us plan. She even moved their own stay at the house to accommodate our dates. At the end of our visit when we experienced a massive delay in flights Jackie and Digger also invited us to stay an extra night with them, and we had a lovely evening with them.

Our two teenage girls enjoyed the house as much as we did and we highly recommend it to all
