Shopping.:
While the apartment is self catering most people tend to eat out in Altinkum as it is relatively cheap. For those who wish to dine in the apartment there are a number of supermarkets in the town on the main boulevard leading from Dolphin Square where food can be bought. Approximately 20 minutes walk away from the front is the Carrafore supermarket that sells everything and beyond that there is another large supermarket. Many of the local restaurants also have shops where food and produce can be bought. The restaurant at the end of the block is quite reasonable and carries a stock of essential food and provisions. Beyond it is a couple of smaller supermarkets where English newspapers can be bought along with English bacon etc. The local produce eg. salad and fruit is usually fresh. There are a number of diverse shops around the Dolphin Square and the main boulevard leading away from the beach. You will also find regular markets around the square selling a variety of items
Helpful advice.:
The apartment is a stone's throw from the main beach and promenade district with its many shops and restaurants. There are two other beaches close by - all are within walking distance although there are buses that travel between the beaches. While there is a communal pool on site it is customary in Turkey to be able to use any Hotel pool if you buy drinks during your visit. There is a large Hotel complex with a good pool at the end of the road although residents tend to use the communal pool. On the front there are numerous boat trips available along with fishing facilities, swimming and the use of pedaloes etc. The night life is quite lively but as it is a family resort most families with children stay out late in the bars or restaurants. A relatively new Aqua park is a dolmus ride away on the edge of town beyond the Apollo Temple and a new marina has been constructed where ferries to the Greek island of Kos can be found. There is also a fun park on the walk to the marina.
