Thank you to Roger and Teresa Farr, the apartment in Gulluk was really lovely and so spacious. It suited us perfectly with 2 children as the terrace was right next to the pool. Very peaceful and relaxing apartments and hardly ever seemed to be any people around, which made us feel like we had our own private pool most of the time.
The apartment was very well equipped and had everything we needed as well as plenty of sheets and towels.
Gulluk is a lovely little town, with a picturesque fishing harbour, the town has potential to become more touristy and I hope it doesn't spoil it's charm. We found a little restaurant called Cetin Pide which is opposite the fishing boats, they have chairs and tables on the small beach so you can kick your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes. The food is simple but delicious and cheap.
The road to Bodrum was an easy drive and took us 30 minutes, I'm glad we chose to stay in Gulluk and not actually in Bodrum. Bodrum was a great place to visit but it was nice to return to the slow pace of Gulluk and the apartment at the end of the day.
Overall, we had a lovely, relaxing holiday, the apartment suited all our needs and we definately be re-booking, if not this year, then definately next year.
Owner's Response: These comments are typical of all who stay here - but there are very many restaurants in Gulluk and around the bay, one such high quality one (Fuego's) is just 4 minutes walk with great sea views and comfy lazy settees to relax on. Many have great fish prices for their "catch of the day".
We agree with the comment about Bodrum - absolutely great to visit (several times if possible with its chic marina harbour, castle, boat trips to Rhodes, water park, boutique shops, 2400 year old Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, built for the king Mausollos of Caria, that died 353 B.C = One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. By night Bodrum becomes a mecca for the young at heart with many late night clubs and bars, Great if you wish to 'join in' but otherwise you will find Gulluk's tranquility to be the perfect antidote.
