Lush green mountains form a spectacular backdrop to Turunç, giving a stunning setting to this quiet, safe and friendly village.
The village is set on the enclosed sweep of bay, with the long sand/shingle mix beach lined by restaurants. Behind this, the paved main street has more restaurants (there are approximately 80 in Turunc), shops and a few bars that play music. The harbour is at one end of the village, with boats ferrying people to busy Marmaris and Içmeler and quieter Amos and Kumlubuk bays. A range of water sports, including water-skiing, are available near the harbour.
If you prefer a busier nightlife, Marmaris and Icmeler are a short dolmus ride away or you can use the hourly boat service. The harbour and marina areas are very pleasant and the shopping is excellent, so it is well worth a visit. At the other end of the spectrum, peaceful Amos and Kumlubuk bays are both accessible by boat, taxi or - for the more active - on foot.
