Exceptional position with private access to the pure water of Iznik Lake, situated between the natural hot springs of Keramet. These two houses provide a luxurious garden of olive trees and all the natural produce of this rich soil - biological vegetables, fruit and olives. Delicious pure oil for meals is available, if requested - these may be taken on the terrace. These two houses, designed by the architect owner, are a mixture of elegance together with traditional and modern items in order to create a cosy and 'open-to-nature' atmosphere. Each house is equipped with all modern facilities and the fireplaces spread their joyful warmth in the large living-rooms. The garden overlooking the lake - where swimming is delightful ; one boat waits for you! - is a perfect place to rest in the hammocks, and also to have fantastic barbecue parties. This peaceful and authentic paradise is discreetly supervised by the delicate and warm welcoming hospitality of its owner

Perfect example of integration in the rich and peaceful nature around, this elegant cottage was designed by its owner, Tayfun Alatli, in order to 'breath' with its magnificent olive trees garden long the Iznik Lake. In fact, all the materials used to build this 'round house' are natural. From the central living-room, 'heart' of this traditional and modern cottage, every room opens from the intimate of it to the garden of olive trees and flowers, spread towards the lake.

Located only 2 hours from Istanbul and 30 minutes from Iznik (capital of the Ottoman Ceramic and with its impressive Byzantine archaeological vestiges), Kriska's House and Fisek's House are situated beside the magnificent Iznik Lake, the perfect balance between culture and nature. Bursa, the capital of the region, is worth visiting as well for its museum, amazing mosques and kebab restaurants. Once back, enjoy a swim in the lake or a delightful and relaxing bath in the natural hot springs, surrounded by olive trees - the perfect opportunity to enjoy and feel in harmony with this peaceful and rich nature. Obviously, a visit to the 'hammam' traditional Turkish bath, with its several marble steam rooms and dry rooms, followed by a marvellous massage is the 'neo plus ultra' of the 'Art de Vivre' of these Ottoman and Byzantine civilizations. A lovely location and host

My family of 5 rented Kriska's house for 2 weeks in September. The setting was peaceful and lovely. A short trip from Istanbul via the ferry, the house is located on acres of flowers, fruit trees, and vegetable gardens. We were told to pick and enjoy anything we liked. The house was fully furnished, neat and clean, and very comfortable. Tayfun, the owner, supplied us with olives, olive oil, and jams from his property. Tayfun was always available to provide assistance and advice on the local area.

The lake has receded some from the shore line but was still lovely to look at. What we really enjoyed was swimming in the local village's hot spring pool. Additional side trips included the thermal pool in Yalova, the silk bazaar in Bursa, and the museum in Iznik.

We would love to go back to Kriska's house again for another relaxing holiday.
