Photos and Description of this Bodrum area holiday cottage Sleeps 2 inside on custom, queen sofa bed. Kitchen and bathroom.

Old, beautiful, recently renovated, village cottage, located in my vineyard. Constructed of stone, 50 cm (20 inch) thick walls and originally built mid-20th century. Located in BODRUM hills above the town of Yalikavak. Twenty minutes to Bodrum city. This cottage is an unusual situation as it is landlocked. Guests drive to their covered parking space above and then walk down the path to the cottage. We have our man Friday who will always help with baggage and groceries. The cottage is on a 3000 meter plot of vineyard (Cab-Sav/Shiraz, etc.Note Harvest last 2 weeks Aug-Sept) and surrounded by nature, birds, eagles, cows, fields, etc. Beautiful view of the Aegean Sea and the antique hills nearby where a Castle stood 3000 years ago. The location on the North side of the Peninsula affords cool breezes. The house has an extensive veranda/patio where one can relax or have a slow meal while taking in the views. Writing a book or want to chill out? This is it!

Nearest Ferry: Bodrum City or Turgutrais at 17 Kilometres
Nearest Motorway: 2 km to Yalikavak-Torba road at 2 Kilometres
Nearest Beach: beach at 2.0 Kilometres

Located in the hills of the Bodrum Peninsula on the north side where cool breezes blow. The village below the house is traditional and quiet, and great to go for a walk in the morning but a simple drive of 5 minutes will bring you to 3 major supermarkets, 2 petrol stations and then Yalikavak village. Yalikavak has scores of restaurants and even some quaint pubs. Some of the best fish restaurants are also here as well as a spectacularly new international Marina. The Thursday market in Yalikavak is one of the best in this entire area. It is a 20 minute drive to Bodrum City.   • Bathroom is traditional Turkish open concept. There is no shower curtain. Everything is very natural.

Notes: The cottage will sleep 2 on a pull out sofa that converts to a queen bed. We have had guests who have brought mature, older children and for this we have arranged 2 cots on the front patio for them to sleep under the stars. It , generally, never rains from May through October. We have a provision to place a mosquito net above the cots although generally, it should not be necessary. The entire property is fenced.

Entering the Cottage: One enters the main door to the living room. This has a working antique wood burning kitchen stove and a 'sedir' or traditional divan type of seating that one uses during the day for very comfortable seating then in one step, extends at night to form a queen size bed. All linens included. This room is fitted with Turkish antiques/carpets and a marvelous antique wooden carved ceiling that came from an old village house elsewhere in the area. Good lighting, shelf space, etc. A Stereo CD/VCD player sits on the shelf. There is a completely new bathroom with sink, shower and toilet. Hot water throughout. Kitchenette with stove top, Mini fridge, utensils and dishes, glasses, cups. Basically, if you need something, within reason, we will get it for you. Linens/towels provided, satellite TV, fantastic, well water fed, private pool. We can arrange for rental of a Gulet sailing boat for a day or more. Ten minutes to beaches or beach clubs.

What is outside the cottage?: Traditional Turkish Ottoman water fountain next to the patio as well as extensive seating areas for existing dining table (4) and chaise lounge (2). Most of the large patio is shaded by old trees. The traditional water depot, supplied with water by one of the most beautiful wells in the area has been transformed into a plunge or dipping pool. The garden generally has seasonal vegetables and herbs available to guests.
